ーSLUGGISHLY walking down
the hallway to the second floor to leave some papers to one of the teachers, you passed by a few of your underclassmen. Bidding a few 'hellos' along the way helped ease your never-ending boredom. A bit too prideful and stubborn to admit it, you weren't doing too hot in school. Always rushing to finish assignments, pulling continuous all-nighters days before the due dates, the list goes on really.
Finally reaching the teacher's office space, you knocked on the door. You then left the papers. Making your way back to your classroom, you stopped to dig for your Walkman in your pocket, but instantly groaning as realization set in that you left your Sony MDR-Q55SL Clip-On Headphones in your bag. (A/N: Was sad when i found out they stopped manufacturing for these, but, i luckily have a pair uvu.) Huffing for the umpteenth time of the day, you reached your classroom.
As the day came to an end, you let out a sigh. Deciding to stay back for a while, you brought out your headphones and Walkman and plugged them in. Listening to your compilation of Rock and Heavy Metal, it oddly soothed you. As you laid your head on the desk with your arm over your ears as you listened to the softly playing music, you were about to fall asleep, that was until one of your friends and underclassmen, Amber, came in.
"Senpai!! Can you pass by the club right now? It's a bit urgent, ehe."
Cracking open an eye, you grumbled a bit. Nonetheless, getting up to go pass by the club. Walking through the school to get to the club with Amber was probably the least boring part of your day. Amber loudly opened the sliding door to signify whoever was inside that we were here. And just at the moment, Diluc, Lisa, and Jean turned their heads towards the door. Lisa was the first to speak out of the bunch.
"y/n!! It was about time for you to come around and accept the presidents offer!!" Diluc and Jean just nodded along with her.
"I already said this a million times, I am not going to--"
"Oh, y/n. I see Amber has finally made you come to accept that offer I made you." Said none other than the president of the Student Council, Zhongli. Letting an exasperated sigh come out, you turned towards him. Looking up/down at him (A/N: Putting that there just in case.), you cleared your throat.
"Listen here, Prez. I am not going to accept your offer, you know my work ethic sucks ass, so see ya, I'm leaving." Just as you were stepping out of the room, he spoke up once more.
"Shouldn't you at least stay once we have finished all matters for the day, as we both promised to walk home together."
Damn you, Zhongli!! Almost had it too!! urgh...
Letting out a sigh, you closed the door and walked back in the room. Sitting down at the far end of the table, you once more started to play your music. Resting your head onto your fist, you chewed the inside of your cheek.

Finally, after 3 hours of waiting, you were free from the Student Council Club Room!! Hastily taking your things, you were ready to sprint out of the room. Well, you were... Zhongli once more stopped you from going further.
"How have your parents been?"
"Ah, they've been well. Kind of always asks how you are though."
"Oh, tell them I'm well. It's good to hear that they're well. How have you been lately?"
"Yeah, will do. And, this is how conversations go stale easily, why not just talk about weird stuff that's happened to you lately. Kinda feel like shit somedays, if I'm being honest. But, I'm feeling happy lately."
Zhongli put his chin in his hand, saying. "I suppose you do have a point."
After a few minutes of talking, you two finally made it off of school grounds. Seeing this as an opportunity, he asked you two questions.
"y/n, is it alright with you if I hold your hand?"
"Huh? Yeah." (A/N: Me, remembering a post i saw that said when people reply with huh and then answer without needing to hear the question again are psychopaths--: Well, fucK--)
Now, as you both were holding hands as you should, you brought up an old memory.
"Zhongli, remember when we were younger, we would always be holding hands? Practically every photo we're together in, we're holding hands." You managed to let out a laugh at the end. Bringing up this memory seemed to make Zhongli let out a chuckle. Showing him the idiotic grin plastered on your face led to you getting head pats. Now having pink hues scatter across your face, you turned your face forward, avoiding his gaze. Feeling him squeeze your hand three times to say "i love you", you squeezed his three times as well.
"So, what do you say about officially being the secretary of the Student Council? We'll be with each other most of the time."
"Hmm, now that you say that, enticing offer. But, before I can do that, I need to get tutoring for math ahaha."
"Well, I could tutor you, if you'd like."
"Ah, thank you!! I knew that my ever-reliable Student Council president, Best-friend, and Boyfriend Zhongli would help me in my most dire moments."
"Silly girl, of course, I'll always be there for you."
Latching yourself onto Zhongli's side you gushed at your long-haired lover.
"Uwah!! You're making me emotional!! You really are the best!! I love you!!"
Covering his face with the outside of his hand so you couldn't see his blush, he said.
"I love you too."
"Ohoho? Are you blushing? Ah, you just make me love you even more!!"
