ーALMOST in
a rushing manner, you went down the almost never-ending staircase. Hearing the Grandfather Clock strike and chime to signify it was midnight, you would've tumbled down the staircase if that meant you could get to the front doors more quickly. In a rush to be in time for your midnight rendezvous, well not really in time anymore since it's a bit over midnight. Nevertheless, you didn't want to keep them waiting.
But, I should provide a bit of background info as to why you're in such a rush, right? So, that I shall do!
Sighing with each step you took down the halls, it seemed like your body kept getting heavier. Your almost confident stride diminished into one of secrecy if that were even possible. But, there wasn't anything to be secretive about in your household. Your caretaker, the overseer of the nation of Inazuma, was holding a small gathering as a thank you to everyone who has helped her put in motion a Decree she's been almost eager to put out and set in stone for a while now. It wasn't like her to do things like this, but not that it mattered at all to you.
Passing by some of the guards in the courtyard, you bid them a good morning. Your steps slightly lifting, as well as your mood, as you spotted the Shirasagi Himegimi of the Yashiro Commission and beside her was the Chief Retainer of the Kamisato Clan, Thoma. The corners of your lips pulling upwards, you waved at them. Ayaka hid her fan and walked over to you with Thoma by her side.
"y/n, it's been a while since we've last spoke, has everything been alright?"
"hm? yea, it's been alright you could say..."
"I heard the Raiden Shogun was going to hold a celebration tonight. Will you be there, y/n?"
"I mean, I have to be there. I live under the same roof as her, plus she's family, in a way."
After a while, Ayaka and Thoma had matters to attend to. You were left alone again. Making your way back inside, you were then beckoned over by Sara. She was in charge of the organization tonight.

Your eyes met across the ballroom, you felt yourself getting swayed by the Devil's snares. Thinking nothing of it, you continued to dance with one of the guests. His carnelian-coloured eyes never seemed to stray from your figure. Slowly as time passed, you both stood face-to-face in each other's arms, in a way. His lean figure seemed to almost tower over you.
It seemed as if it were an eternity that you spent dancing with the carnelian-coloured eyed man, but it was only for an hour.
"Meet me at the entrance to Chinju Forest later tonight." He whispered into your ear softly as your dancing was coming to a close. Questioning as to why he would tell you such a thing, you waited until midnight struck to go meet him.
It was a pain just trying to get through the massive amount of guards in Inazuma. Especially the ones who guarded the front entrance to where the Raiden Shogun resided. So, you decided to go through the back of some buildings and glided down the rocky mountains. Hoping that that was enough to evade them, you knew there were rarely any guards outside of Inazuma City.
As you finally made it to Chinju Forest, you noticed he was there. With a leaf to his mouth as he played a small tune, once he spotted you he let the wind lead the leaf away as it landed and drifted away in the river. He beckoned you over, you were hesitant in doing so. He as well ushered you to take off your shoes, not knowing why he wanted you to do so.
But both now barefoot, he pulled your body closer to his, your feet hesitantly dipping into the water of the cascading river in Chinju Forest. Placing one of his hands below your shoulder blade and the other taking hold of your right hand, he prompted you into a waltz position.
"Didn't we dance an hour or two ago?" You asked him, still not brave enough to ask him his name.
"We did, but isn't funner to dance as if no one were watching?" He only gave you another question as an answer. He kept on glancing at the entrance to Chinju Forest as if waiting for someone to pass by. Yet no one came. As time passed by, you began to tire. Slightly twitching in soreness, you swallowed the lump that began to form at your throat the more you thought about asking him a certain question.
"What is your name?" A few moments of silence came after you asked him.
"Kaedehara Kazuha." He responded after a minute or so of contemplation.
Eyes slightly widening and mouth beginning to form into an 'o' shape, you began to slightly ramble.
"Wait- Aren't you that one samurai who Baal wants seized under the Vision Hun Decree? Aren't you a wanted man throughout Inazuma? What are you even-!"
Kazuha abruptly brought you into a chaste kiss to put a stop to your rambling. Your face erupted into multiple shades of vermillion once you both parted of the chaste kiss.
"Have you ever wondered what it's like outside of Inazuma?"
"I've thought about it before, but never acted upon it," you started to ponder after you said that.
"Maybe we could go to Liyue together?"
