Time flies so fast. It's been a month since Klein left the country. I got myself busy with my clinic and so far it goes well. Despite the competition. Bella beauty is one of my greatest rivalry. I understand that. Malayo na ang narating ng kompanyang 'yon kumpara sa akin na kabubukas pa lang. But that doesn't stop me. I still strive and continuously doing my best.
I go back and forth in Cosmos Isle while I was working on a property that I'm planning to get my own house built. Yohan suggested the mansion but I don't think I can live there even for a single day. Maraming mapapait at masasakit na ala ala ang bahay na 'yon na gusto ko nang ibaon sa limot. I wanted a brand new start.
"Hi. Is Axton here?" tanong ko sa receptionist ng The Ace.
"Uh. Hindi pa po nagagawi dito, Ma'am. Baka po nasa site. You want me to call his office, Ma'am?"
"Uh, no need. Thank you. I'll just call him myself," agap ko at ngumiti.
She was talking about his new project on a small island nearby. He's been very busy lately and we're like talking only thrice a week. Kaya nagdesisyon akong umuwi ng Cosmos muna.
Nilabas ko ang cellphone at ni-dial ang numero niya. Ilang ring pa ang dumaan bago niya sinagot 'yon.
"Baby?"
"Axton uhm... Are you busy? Where are you?"
Sana lang hindi halatang namimiss ko na siya. We haven't had our "alone time" together since Klein left. I got busy and he was too. At aaminin kong miss na miss ko na siya.
"I'm on the site. Why? Something happened?" rinig na rinig ang maingay na background niya.
People talking and machines.
"Uh... wala naman. I'm in Cosmos. Are you up for lunch?" Kinagat ko ang labi ko.
"I promised to have lunch with the team today."
Bumagsak ang balikat ko.
"Uhm... okay. Next time then," may pag aalangan sa boses ko.
"Sorry, baby. I promise to come home early tonight. We'll have our dinner together."
Tumango ako kahit 'di naman niya kita.
"Alright," tipid kong sagot.
Bumuntong hininga ako pagkatapos ng tawag.
I had my lunch alone and later in the afternoon I took a dip in the ocean. Alone. Honestly I'm worried. I'm thinking that something has changed... in him. This isn't the Axton I knew. He put me first in everything. I can't believe he just rejected my offer. This could be a sign of something. This isn't right. Hindi naman siguro siya nanlalamig sa akin, hindi ba?
Ipinilig ko ang ulo sa masiyadong pag iisip. No. Hindi magagawa ni Axton sa akin 'yon. He said he's inlove with me... so much.
Later that night, I decided to cook for him. I'm not really that skillful in the kitchen but at least I could do something for him. Natapos ko ang pagluluto at naihanda na ang candlelight dinner para sa amin. This is my first time to put effort for a dinner. I don't even know if I pulled it right. Hindi naman kasi ako mahilig sa surprises. That's cringy, corny and yeah... cheesy childish thing.
Hindi ko alam kung ilang minuto ko nang tinitigan ang kandila na nakakalahati na. I've been calling him several times but he wasn't picking up. I sighed for the nth time and stood up, trying to call him again.
Alas nuebe na ng gabi at wala pa siya. The other line kept on ringing and when he didn't pick up I just sent him a message instead.
Axton, why aren't you picking up? You promised a dinner with me.
