As I look up, A surprised expression shows on my face. The man that I wanted to see tonight after that brief interaction. "Christian." I lightly speak as he holds me into his embrace. I turn my head back to Damon, who's gone. A part of me goes dim. I can't seem to ask myself what that entire thing back there with him was but, I didn't want it to go away just yet. "Sorry, I'm late. I kind of wanted it to be a surprise, me coming here." He clears up. "I wasn't sure you'd come," I admit. I figured after the night he kissed me he'd go back to ignoring me somehow in his own little way. 

"At first I wasn't. But uh, I needed to see you." He too admits. I look up at him, a gentle smile on my lips. "I'm glad you did." I finish. He moves his palm up to my cheek, lightly caressing it with the pad of his thumb. "I know the two of us have been on a rocky path lately, and the longer I've been away from you, the more I thought to myself." I remain quiet, scared of where he's going with this. 

"I'll wait for you, Leah." He spits. I part my lips, but before I can say anything he places his other hand on the other side of my face, moving a few strands behind my ear. "And before you say anything about how you don't want me to, I'm willing to do this. I've never loved anyone in my entire life as much as I've loved you." He confesses. I stand in front of him, not knowing what to say. I do love him, I always will. But I can't love him, and someone else too. In the end, someones getting hurt in the process. "Christian-" I start. Before I can get another word out I look up at Christian, my eyes soft, and my heart wanting to kiss him. But I can't. 

I gently place my hands onto his before lowering his from my cheeks as I look up at him. "Christian. You know that always, and I mean I will always love you, right?" I say, watching as I break him slowly with every word that comes. "But I can't love you and love him at the same time," I say, my voice weakening. He looks at me, crumbled. I shed a small tear as he takes a step back. "Just answer me this," He pauses for a moment. "Are you in love with him?" He finally asks. My stomach drops, and the only thing I can do is nod. "Yes." He sighs, disappointed by my answer. "I'm sorry, "I whisper silently. He takes one last look at me before standing back. "Yeah, me too." 

As I turn around, I quickly make my way out of the warehouse as I hear distant yelling of my friends calling my name. "Leah! Leah wait!" Mari and Alex call out. As I ignore them and I keep running. My brain is foggy from the alcohol, and I can't think straight. 

"Leah watch out!" I finally stop, turning in front of me as I see the moving car making its way quickly towards me. Before I can even move, my body is hit and forced into the water. I'm unconscious. 

MARIS POV

As we make a run for it outside following Leah, we try our best to catch up with her, but she doesn't listen. "Leah!" As she finally stopped, my eyes widen as I see the moving car only inches away from her. Next thing I know, her bodies landing inside of the water. Alex and I stand there shocked for a moment before quickly running into the water. I swim around a further down before noticing her body. I quickly swim down, but even myself, I'm slowly losing oxygen. I quickly grab her arm, and Alex helps me pull her up to the surface, Leah's head gushing blood. 

"Someone help!" I yell through my tears as we pull her up to the deck. We hear a few distant sirens and the guys quickly make their way over to us. I quickly check her pulse, which is weak. "Guys she's not breathing!" I cry out. The ambulance arrives, and everything that happens from here...I don't know. 

AUTHORS NOTE: Well, that was a wild turn right? In the next few chapters as we move up to the end of the book, there are going to be a lot of changes at the end of this book. Stay tuned, more to come :)
