LEAHS POV

"Guys is this outfit even okay? I don't know it looks like we kind of overdid it." I say, contemplating my Halloween outfit. Mari and Alex stood in front of me as they tried to help me. Honestly, I don't know how they talked me into letting them plan my costume. I'm going as  Cat-Woman. Dressing up and going out wasn't my thing anymore, let alone partying. As much as I started resenting going anywhere, going out for a change with my friends and everything getting better for us as a group seems to be a good idea at the time. With my parents and me on the right track again, or at least getting there, maybe this year won't end off so bad. "What? No, come on you look amazing!" Alex said, "Plus everything for this outfit is necessary. You just need to get comfortable and not be so fussy about it." Mari added. I let out a sigh before walking past them towards the body mirror, observing myself in it. I have to admit it's not that bad. I guess I just have to get used to wearing material like this.
"So?" Alex starts. I do a few simple poses as I try to a feel of the outfit before turning back around. "I think I can get used to this." I mean the outfit wasn't bad, just uncomfortable. Mari went as Batwoman, while Alex decided to be poison ivy. The red wig wasn't the best, but she pulled it off well. The two of them shrieked, my hands pressing against my ears as they rambled on and on about tonight. "Okay, okay," I start, the two of them getting quiet. "Who's all going to be there?" I ask, just out of curiosity. Scratch that not even because of curiosity. Mostly because I want to be on guard when I run into anyone that I don't like. Preferably my ex-boyfriends' ex-girlfriend, and preferably any of Damons' play toys. "Well, not anyone that wouldn't be there. I know for a fact everyone we know is going." Mari says, not being specifically vague but I kind of got an idea. "So..the normal group?" I ask her.
"Yep! That's about it I think." She says. I smile gently and nod before taking one final glance in the mirror. I look good. I feel good. I'm going with my friends to enjoy tonight, and that's all that matters. No drama, just friends creating memories.
Once we arrive at the warehouse, the number of cars parked outside has me completely shocked. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam made people pay for entry. The awfully large building was set a bit isolated from the rest of the city. Resting on a shipping yard right in front of the water. It was a nice view that my eyes happened to rest on for a while. "Come on Leah let's go!" Alex shouted, forcing me out of my gaze. "Right," I say following the two of them in past the large crowd. "Where even are they? How are we gonna find them with all of these people?" I ask as the three of us hold hands making our way through the warehouse. "Tyler told me to meet them in the back of the warehouse. They've got tables!" Mari shouted over the Chase Atlantic music that played. "There they are!" Alex pointed them out as we approached our friends.

I take a deep breath as we get closer to them, my insides feel like they're turning just as we're officially standing in front of them. I smile brightly as they start cheering and doing all of this clapping, and for once I feel completely happy. "And finally the women have entered!" Tyler shouts out. "Took you guys long enough, you all look good by the way," Jason says as he holds the bottle in his hand. Classic Jason am I right? "You know us, fashionably late as per-usual. And you guys are..?" I say before pausing as I try to make out their costumes. "Oh come on, Jasons Hercules, I'm Poseidon, Damons a greaser, Tylers like.." Sam pauses. "Dude I'm a stripper cop." He clarifies, making us laugh a little. "Yeah, that. Anyway, and Christians well--" I look around for him, noticing he's not here, sadly. I frown a little before shaking it off and looking back at Sam. "He's supposed to be here soon." He says. I nod and force that tiny smile back on my face before leaning onto his shoulder.

"So, should we start the night off with a few shots or are we gonna stand here and complement each other all night?" Damon asks. "Shots, but first--hey Lionel!" Sam turns around, as he walks up. I raise my brow before quickly doing a small jump, shocked just like the rest of the group. "Oh my god! Lionel! Wait when the hell did you get back?" I ask. It's been ages since I've seen him. "I just got back a few days ago. Sam arranged the surprise and uh, well here I am." My curly-headed friend says. "Well, I'm glad you're back," I say giving him a warm hug before moving back. "Alright, let's do this!" Jason shouts as he hands out the shot glasses, pouring the vodka inside of them. "Cheers to a killer Halloween night!" Alex says out loud. "Woo! Cheers!" A few scattered words are said before we all down the shots. I make a small squinched face before chuckling.
