After I left Nathaniel's place, I headed back to my dorm. For some reason I felt this large piece of weight lifting off of my shoulders. We talked, we laughed. Everything in the moment just seemed so, peaceful.
Of course there was still a list of people that I had to make amends with, and only one kept going through my head.
Damon.
Out of everyone, I haven't heard a single thing about him since that day. It was like, he was wiped from existence almost. Mari, and Alex didn't speak about him, never around me. As I got back that morning, the two of them had quickly gotten up.
"Leah! Where the hell have you been?" Alex shouted as I walked through the door.
Here we go.
I looked up at the two of them, who at the moment acted as if they were some parental figures of mine.
"Relax, I was at a friends." I said as I sat my things down. I didn't see it as a big deal. I mean Nathaniel was a friend, a very, very complicated friend. But I'd consider him one at least.
"Yeah? We know all your friends, Leah. Tyler, and Sam said you weren't with them, and we both know you weren't with Christian, let alone Jason." Mari said with her arms folded, and her eyes narrowed at me.
I scoff and turn towards them as I take off my jacket. "How about this, none of your damn business! Who I associate with, has nothing to do with you!" I yell.
They both look at each other, a bit of an appalled look on their face. "And why are you getting so defensive hm?" Alex says.
I look up at the ceiling, letting out a breath, as I tuck my hair behind my ear, before grabbing the jacket once more. "I can't do this." I grab my shoes, putting them on, and the two begin to ramble.
"So what, you're leaving? Again?" Mari says.
I nod and put my hair into a bun"Yeah, actually I am. I'm going to see Damon, since you guys are so nosy about what I'm doing nowadays." They look at each other, no words forming from their mouths.
"What." I say slowly. Their silence is the only thing that really scares me right now.
They look at me, and my heart begins to thump for some odd reason. "He's just been in a really shitty place since you two were on the outs, and you know, we haven't exactly heard from him."
I press my lips together and slowly nod. "Then I guess it's time I see him. If I'm setting things straight with everyone, I need to with him." I say.
Mari cocks her eyebrow, "Everyone? Even- him?" By him I knew who she was referring too. I sigh, and rub the back of my neck. "Yes, Nathaniel."
"Leah." Alex says in a soft voice. I close my eyes, wanting to avoid this conversation, and I grab my bag, heading for the door quickly.
"You know you'll have to choose, eventually right?" Mari blurted. I held my head down for a moment, resting my hand in the door knob. "I know." I say quietly, before exiting the room.
My feels for both Christian, and Nathaniel are very much visible. The only thing that I can't figure out is who I want more in the end.
