As soon as I reached Nate's house my stomach started to turn. I didn't exactly plan on seeing Nate after everything that happened, but when it came to Kol I didn't mind. What was he even doing there with those kids? They looked like they were people Nate or Damon would hang with which concerned me. I kept eyeing Kol who seemed to be more scared each moment we got closer to his brothers place.

As we pulled up into the driveway the two of got out and walked to the front door. He kept his head down, and without saying anything I simply rubbed his shoulder to comfort him. As the door opened and Nathaniel's face came into view he looked just as shocked seeing me, "Leah? What are you doing here?" He asked before looking at Kol.

"Kol? What the fuck happened to your face?!" He shouted.

"Some kids jumped him off the corner by this cafe I was at..I found him there and chased them off." I explain to him.

"This is why I fucking told you to keep your arse inside and away from those little fuckers. What were you even thinking?" Nate continued to yell at him.

"Oh for fuck sakes lay off of him. Instead of trying to parent him right now why don't you let us inside so I can help him get cleaned up." I jump in.

Nate darts his head at me with a serious look in his eyes. "I think I can handle it."

Luckily I wasn't take into him for an answer. I ignored him and pushed past him with my shoulder with Kol before walking to the kitchen and helping him sit down. "Where's your first aid?" I asked Nate as he followed us.

"Didn't you hear me? I said I've got it covered." He reminded me. All I could do was continue to look at him with a death stare. I wasn't here for him, I was here for Kol. "I don't feel like arguing with you right now. Just tell me where's the fucking first aid Nathaniel."

He clenched his jaw before walking to the cabinet behind me, grabbing a first aid kit and placing it on the counter. "After this I need you out, Leah." He told me before walking out of the kitchen before I could even say anything.

I rolled my eyes ignoring him before cleaning up Kols nose. "Your brother is extremely exhausting that's one thing I can say." I admit to Kol. He raises his eyebrow momentarily before lowering it. "Yeah try living with him. He's only been getting in my nerves even more than you'd assume."

I chuckle before nodding in agreement. "I bet. How have you been? I heard you got out of a coma."

Kol has always been the more concerned one out of the two of them. "I've been good, getting my shit together after being gone for three years..."

The two of us remain quiet for a moment, "Nate told you?" I hesitantly ask.

"No not really. He just threw a tantrum when he found out. He tour up my parents house, broke everything before losing his mind completely."

While cleaning his face I stay quiet. I knew he was a mess, but I didn't think was that bad for him. I understand, but I don't get why he could just easily push me away.

"And since I've been gone?" I continue to intrude.

"Drugs, alcohol. I was shocked at the fact that he didn't have any constant hookups."

The hookup part isn't really my main focus. I never wanted him to turn back to those methods to cope. After finishing up I put everything away before looking at Kol.

"Can you promise me something?" I start. Kol nods slowly, "Well that depends on the promise, but hit me." He says.

"Look after him? I know that's probably asking a lot given how much you guys have gone through, but with the fact that he basically hates me, you're all he's got." I say.
