Chapter 1

"The nerve of him to insult my skills like that and then to go against orders....." Obi Wan carried on his rant about Anakin once more, but all Cody could seem to focus on were his general's lips. He didn't know why he was so fascinated by them, or why his heart was nearly pounding out of his chest, but he just couldn't take his eyes off of them. His heart nearly stopped when he realized Obi Wan had stopped talking and was looking at him.

"I'm terribly sorry to go off like that again Cody, it's just that boy knows how to get under my skin."

"It's alright General." Cody replied quietly, hoping the jedi hadn't noticed his strange staring.

"Ah well, still, it must get boring listening to me rant on about him constantly. I'm certain you have better things to do with your free time." The jedi replied, smiling apologetically at the clone. Cody's heart just seemed to melt at the smile.

"Yes General." He replied softly, standing and taking his helmet off the table he'd been seated at and pulled it back on before leaving the room, still uncertain as to why his heart rate had increased at the smile.

"I think I'm sick." Cody muttered, flopping his helmeted head down onto the table in the mess hall where Rex and Wolffe sat.

"Then don't come near me, I don't want to be sick." Wolffe said, standing and walking to go sit with his wolfpack. Rex rolled his eyes at Wolffe's actions before turning to look at Cody.

"Why do you think that?" He asked, curious what was wrong with his vod. Cody raised his arms in a shrug, head staying on the table.

"I don't know! My heart rate increases randomly, my palms sweat! I keep zoning out and not focusing on work!" Cody ranted, not wanting to say these things only happen where near his General.

"Have you been to see a medic?" Rex asked, not sure what was going on with his friend.

"No.....I guess I probably should...I mean physically I'm fine!..It's just...this other stuff going on sometimes.."

"What do you want me to tell you Cody? I don't know any more than you do what's happening."

"I don't know okay Rex?!" Cody retorted with a sigh, finally lifting his head to look over at his vod. Rex opened his mouth to reply when his and Cody's commlinks went off.

"Looks like the Generals have a new mission for us." Rex said, flashing his friend an apologetic smile before pulling on his helmet and leading the way to the command center. Cody rose and followed after him.

"Ah Commander, Captain, right on time." Anakin greeted as the two clones entered the command center.

"Hello there." Obi Wan greeted to the clones before gesturing towards the table in front of him where a holo map stood. Cody felt his heart speed up at the sight of his General and the small smile he'd given to the clones. Kriff he loved hearing the sounds of his voice when he spoke. He was glad that his helmet was on, keeping others from noticing his stares as he made his way to stand with Rex near the table.

"What are the orders Generals?" Rex asked, looking over at the Jedi.

"Well Rex old boy, we'll be going back to Geonosis for this mission." Anakin said, grinning his signature cocky smirk.

"We've received information of a new droid factory on planet and are to go destroy it." Obi Wan said, looking over at the clones. Cody had the sudden urge to run to the Jedi and pull him into his arms and just kiss him....wait, Cody nearly froze in shock as he realized what was happening to him. He couldn't be, yet it seemed based on all the signs that he was. "Cody? Cody!" He snapped to attention to see everyone staring at him. "Cody? Did you hear me?" Obi Wan asked, looking concerned.

"Uh..y..yes General." Cody replied even though he hadn't heard a word the jedi had said.

"Alright good, I'll leave you to inform the 212th of the mission then." He said, knowingly repeating what he'd previously stated for Cody. Cody nodded and saluted.

"Yes General." He spoke before turning and leaving the room, the looming idea of his discovery hanging over his head. He was falling in love with his General.
