I'll Be There For You [ Book 1 ]

Chapter 9

"The pirates are here!" Ahsoka shouted, coming back from her look out post to inform the jedi, clone, and bounty hunters of the situation.

"Then we shall be ready to fight them." The lead bounty hunter stated as her weapons were drawn. Her fellow bounty hunters readied their weapons as well and moved to defend the villagers hiding in the barn. The jedi ignited their lightsabers and Cody pulled out his blaster.

"You ready for the fight commander?" Obi Wan asked.

"Of course general." Cody replied, grinning beneath his helmet. Obi Wan smiled at him as Anakin pointed out to approaching speeders "Here they are." Their small group moved to meet the pirate group who upon seeing the jedi, began an attack.

Cody shot at the pirates as they ran towards him. He was a back line in between the jedi and the bounty hunters. If the pirates got past the jedi it was his job to shoot them down, hopefully before they could get to the barn. He distantly noticed Obi Wan going to face off with the head pirate, he did put his full attention on their fight briefly when he saw Obi Wan nearly fall off a cliff. He let out a small breath of relief when he saw him jump back up. He was just looking away from the fight when he got shoved to the ground, a pirate above him. He tried to shoot him but got his blaster knocked away as the pirate got ready to shoot. Cody winced and watched as the pirate suddenly launched through the air away.

"Need some help there commander." Obi Wan said, a hint of worry in his voice that only Cody heard.

"Thanks general." He said, taking the jedi's hand as he pulled him to his feet. The two males looked around and noticed the pirates retreating.

"Well looks like we won." Obi Wan commented as the villagers came out of hiding to thank them for the help.

"Looks like you did good jedi." The lead bounty hunter said, nodding in appreciation. "Let's get you that ride back to your ship."

"Good to hear everything went well after your detour." Mace Windu stated to Obi Wan through the hologram. Obi Wan nodded.

"Indeed. Once we got back we were able to help defeat the droid army in this area." Obi Wan replied. Cody stood off to the side, only half listening to the jedi's conversation. His mind kept slipping back to their kiss on the planet that had gotten interrupted by Anakin but ended in a very suggestive promise from Obi Wan. "Cody?" Cody snapped back into reality as he saw Obi Wan watching him with a brow raised and the transmition with Mace long since ended.

"Um what?" Cody asked as the jedi smirked slightly.

"Something on your mind commander? Maybe my promise from earlier?" Obi Wan asked as he pinned the clone against the wall.

 After they were done,  Cody smiled and cuddled close to the male. "Love you." he whispered softly as Obi Wan smiled.

"I love you too." he whispered to the already sleeping male. He kissed his head before closing his eyes and falling asleep as well.
