Cody stood next to his general as new orders came in from the Jedi Council. He was only half paying attention as most of his focus was on not freaking out from being able to stand this close to the Jedi and resist all urges to pull him into a hug and kiss him. His heart slowly broke during moments like this, but he still savored them, knowing he'd never be any closer to the Jedi anyways.

"Commander what do you think?" Cody blinked back into reality to see the hologram of Mace Windu facing him.

"I uh...think it's a good idea General." He replied, having no idea what they were even talking about before. Mace Windu just nods and says a few words of caution and farewell to Obi Wan before the transmission ended.

"You have no idea what he said don't you Cody?" Obi Wan asked, turning to face the Commander with an amused smile. Cody's hear always melted at the sight of his smile.

"Yes, sorry general. I wasn't paying attention I know." Cody muttered, waiting for the Jedi to scold him.

"It's alright Cody, I wasn't paying much attention either." Obi Wan responded with a small laugh, making the clone smile beneath his helmet.

"So what's this mission anyways?" Cody asked, hoping the Jedi wouldn't get mad at him for asking.

"General Grievous' ship has been causing a blockade to Ryloth again, so we must remove his ship so Ryloth can continue getting aid."

"Sir yes sir general."

**

Cody stood beside Obi Wan on control deck of the ship, looking out the main window to see Grievous' ship as they flew closer to it. It was just the one ship, but Grievous knew well how to take down other ships.

"Sir a transmission is coming in from the other ship, should we take it?" A clone off to the side asked as Obi Wan nodded. Soon a hologram of General Grievous appeared.

"Hello there."

"Ah General Kenobi. So good to see you have come to what will be your doom."

"Well it was certainly worth it then to see your lovely face Grievous, but do tell me how this will be my doom?" Cody felt a small stab of jealousy, he knew his general flirted a lot, but it still hurt that none of it was directed towards him.

"Why General Kenobi, you have been duped. I was merely here to lure you into my trap." Suddenly Obi Wan ignited his lightsaber as Ventress appear behind them. Cody pulled out his blaster, but Obi Wan held an arm out, keeping Cody from going any closer.

"This is to dangerous for you Cody, stay back and let me handle Ventress." Cody just nodded, knowing the Jedi was right, but also confused since his life shouldn't have meant anything to him, and it made him feel small sparks of hope.

Cody stood back and watched as his general battled with Ventress, feeling like he should help but not wanting to disobey an order at the same time. The battle carried on until Obi Wan forced Ventress to escape since he'd outwitted her. When they returned to the bridge they watched as Grievous' ship picked up Ventress before jumping off into hyperspace.

"General you should have let me help, she might not have gotten away if I had." Cody scolded, turning to face the Jedi.

"Yes I know, but all that matters is that your safe. We'll have another chance to catch her." Obi Wan said before he turned to head off to his quarters. Cody blushed lightly at the Jedi just wanting him to be safe.

Maybe, just maybe Obi Wan likes him too.
