Chapter 18

Cody sighed as he walked into the strategy room late at night when all others were asleep or heading off to sleep while Obi Wan continued to work on trying to find Maul. Cody walked silently to stand behind the jedi and wrapped his arms around him, resting his cheek against his back.

"Come to bed." Cody mumbled quietly as Obi Wan sighed.

"I can't Cody, I need to find him."

"You can find him tomorrow, I want cuddles." Cody whined, making Obi Wan smile at how adorably childish his commander was acting.

"Cody I want to, but you know the council has asked me to do this."

"Then just don't listen to them for a little while, please." Cody begged, and Obi Wan sighed with a smile as his resolve broke.

"Alright fine, just for a little bit."

"Yay!" Cody cheered, releasing the jedi from his hug before grabbing his hand and pulling him to their room. Obi Wan chuckled softly and followed his love. Once in their room Cody had Obi Wan sit on the bed before sitting on his lap and just cuddling close to him, wrapping his arms around the jedi.

"You're in a cuddly mood." Obi Wan joked, wrapping his arms around the smaller males frame.

"Hmm, I just want to help you. You've been too stressed lately." If it was possibly Obi Wan's heart just fell even more in love with the clone as he softly pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"You are too good for me. What did I ever do to deserve you."

"If anything I'm the one who doesn't deserve you." Cody said quietly, looking up at the jedi with a small, warm smile. Obi wan chuckled and placed a hand on his cheek.

"I always want to be with you."

"Then let us hope we can end this war, then at least we don't have to worry about one another dying." Cody joked, even if the truth behind his words hurt the both of them, it was something they both feared each battle. That they would lose their other and better half.

"Cody?"

"Hmm?" The clone hummed in response, smiling happily.

"Marry me."

"What?" Cody asked slowly as he tried to process what Obi Wan had just said.

"Cody will you marry me?" Obi Wan asked, his eyes darting across the clone's face for any hint of what he would say.

"Yes!" Cody shouted as a bright smile erupted across his features before tightly hugging Obi Wan. "Of course I will!" Obi Wan smiled and gently kissed him. Cody instantly kissed him back as happy tears made their way down both their faces. As they pulled away one thought briefly crossed Cody's mind. "What about your jedi council? They won't like you being married." He tried to say it jokingly, but he was worried that Obi Wan would take back his proposal.

"I'll leave them." Obi Wan stated slowly. He knew now that nothing matter more to him than Cody, not being a jedi, not a seat on the council, so if he needed to leave to be with him, he would.

"But what about-"

"No. You are all that I want, and if I must leave to have you, then I will." Cody nodded in understanding and smiled at his now fiance.

"I love you."

"I love you too Cody."
