Chapter 36

Laura Grace/Gracie/LG – POV

"CHIEF!" I hear as I start to roll over, but feel an arm constricting me. I open my eyes to see Max holding me and smiling.

"Just be quiet. They will stop and go away." He says softly as he kisses my forehead. I smile and nod.

"Gracie!" Lizzie calls as I hear the downstairs door open. I look at Max confused.

"What is she doing here?" I whisper as there is a knock on the door.

"Gracie, sweetie I need you out here, NOW!" Wow Lizzie used her Alpha tone. I jump up as Max throws me his shirt from last night from the floor. I put it on as I walk to the door. I hate this compulsion crap. She has only used it on me one other time, I was on a call and she made me hang up.

I open the door just enough to stick my head out. "What's up?" I look at her with a smile.

"What's up? Really? That's all you have to say? It's 10am and there is a crater in the driveway and half of an Audi and you say what's up?" Lizzie is clearly upset and with good reason, we never told her anything last night. "You left my party, found out someone was trying to kill you and came here to do it and blew up the driveway instead. If it wasn't for Charlie I would be in the dark." Yep Lizzie is pissed.

"Sorry. I didn't want to ruin your day and..." I start to tell her as an arm wraps around my waist and pulls me from the door and I see Max with his suite pants on going to the door after taking me out of the way.

"Hi Liz. How was the party?" Max says thru the opening. I slightly giggle.

"Max! Your father wants you at the house in 10. He said he has been trying to link you all morning. I stopped him from coming here, but I can send him if you would like?" Now I can see her in my head, her arms crossed head slightly down trying to control herself.

"Well then, Laura Grace and I will go for a run and meet you at the other house for lunch." Max says as he smiles and then shuts the door. He looks back at me and smiles

"Did you just close the door on her?" I say softly. Max is still smiling.

"YES, HE DID!" Lizzie yells from the other side of the door.

"SORRY LIZZIE!" I yell back.

"Just get to the house as soon as you can!" Lizzie is now stomping down the stairs.

"Chief" I hear Sarah thru our link.

"Please make this good news." I say back thru the link.

"Well then uh, wanta go for a run? The four of us?" Sarah asks gently thru our link. I open the door to the bedroom as Max is wondering what I am doing. I step out and look over to her door. It opens and she steps out in the same man's white button up that like me.

"What's really up?" I ask as she walks to me. She hands me the iPad.

"Really where did you get this? Do you have it strapped to you?" I ask her as I start to look at it.

"I had Kim bring it to me this morning." She said with a shrug. I look at the screen and I see him. Alpha Henry. He is in his car down the road.

"When was this?" I ask her shaking a little.

"It's live." She simply states.
