Chapter 48

Voices, I can't make them out or what they are saying, just a murmur. I open my eyes and the light peaking in thru the curtains makes me realize it is morning. I sit up, keeping the sheets on me and look to the door. Max is arguing with someone that is outside, I sniff and know that smell as if it is my own.

"Max, just let Sarah in!" I yell as I roll my eyes.

"It's only 8am, she can wait!" He turns to me as he closes the door.

"NOPE!" I call out as I walk to the door and unlock it with the sheet still around me. I open the door and let her in. "I know you have a damn good reason and the only one I can think of is you bit his ass!" I say to Sarah as I let her in and then close the door.

"Yes, I bit him." She comes creeping in and then sits on the bench at the end of the bed. "He is fine. He shifted; we went for a run than he passed out." She looks at me but is still wringing her hands.

"Okay, then why are you freaking out?" I asked her walking over and sitting next to her and put a hand on her back. I look over and Max is standing next to me with his arms crossed.

"HE'S FUCKING HUGE!" She yells out and her eyes are wide as she looks terrified. I cover my mouth and stifle a laugh.

"Sarah, have you ever looked in the mirror when you're in Lycan form?" I ask delicately.

"Well, yeah, but I don't think you understand. He was what 6'6' before? He is now 7 feet tall, with more muscles than before, and his tattoos like morphed." She is shaking her head and covering her eyes.

"What do you mean they morphed?" Max is now concerned.

"Well, some he had done that were of wolves, you know the one showing his status and family. The one of him is now Lycan. And the one of me has a crown. The ones on his collar bones that were for Max and you, well, they are gone!" For the first time I almost see Sarah actual fear in her eyes. "And."

"And what?" I ask her urgently. She looks at me and then holds out her wrists.

"Okay? What am I missing?" I say looking at her and then her wrists.

"I had one for you and one for Max on my wrists and now they are gone." She tells me as my eyes go wide and I now remember seeing them yesterday. "What the fuck is happening!" Sarah calls out looking at Max. I just put my arms around her and hug her.

"It's gonna be okay. We are going to figure it all out, just breathe." I say pulling her back and then turn to Max. "Maybe we should have someone check on Tanner and then find Huma?" I look at Max and he is just standing looking at Sarah and his eyes are glazed over. Either he is linking someone or in a really deep staring contest with the wall. "MAX!"

"Oh. Yes, I am having your doctor going to check on Tanner and Huma is actually waiting on us in my office already." He starts to go to the bathroom. "You do realize we have your coronation at 2pm right?" Max calls from the bathroom. I look back as Sarah and she nods.

"Yeah, we know." I call back. "Look Sarah go back to your room, take a shower and get dressed then come back here as quick as you can." She nods and takes off out of the room. I walk into the bathroom and can see Max is washing his hair in the shower. "You better either move over or hurry up, because we gotta move." I say to him dropping the sheet and getting in the shower with him.

"Babe, really?" Max says as I get in and he looks at me.

"We don't have time. Wash up and turn on that other shower head!" I tell him sternly.

"Don't you have a team of people coming again today for Hair and stuff?" he asks me as he stands in the other stream. I don't dare look at him or we will be even later.
