Laura Grace/LG/Chief

"You heard me, fight for it! I heard Edmond say as I watched Max and Dixon look at Edmond like he had lost his mind. Honestly, I had thought the same. He must have hit his head at some point.

"Hey, Chief?" I hear Anna say quietly next to me as I look at her, she no longer looks like she's possessed. I nod to her to tell her to continue. "What is going on and how did I get here?"

"Long story, and you can thank Sarah for it later. You need to go get Brett." I tell her as she goes to get up, I grab her hand. "Get Kyle and Travis too." She nods and I look back over at Dixon and Max who are looking at me. I shake my head and close my eyes. I grab the book in front of me and check for an index and thankfully there is one. I start looking for the word King. I quickly find a whole page with the reference of King and subtopics under the word and I start scanning again.

"Laura Grace, what are you doing? You really want to start studying now?" Max asks with an irritated tone. I look up at him and give him a warning glare.

"There has to be some lame archaic law in here that has a loophole for me to find." I roll my eyes and return to the book.

"It doesn't matter." Dixon says looking at me. "Laura is the helicopter still here?"

"Yes, of course. I own it." I look up at him not looking at Max, because Goddess knows he is gonna give me shit for that too.

"Well can I borrow it? Or you know what how much is it? I will write you a check." He pulls out his Checkbook from his coat pocket and walks over to the table next to Emi and looks at me.

"Honestly, I don't know. Sarah ordered it." I said as I looked up and then went back to scanning the section. "Why do you want it? Where do you think you are going?" I ask not even looking up.

"I am getting out of here. I am still a rogue and I am not following some, what did you call them?" He asked as Emi answered.

"Lame archaic law." She looked at him sweetly as he smiled down at her and then leaned over and kissed her forehead. Must be a family thing with the men here kissing foreheads.

"Right, that. I can leave at any time. I have pledged nothing and no one outside this room knows anything." He says looking at Edmond. "I told you, I don't want to be King!" Dixon is angry. I have only seen him this way one time and it was in Florida at the opening of the hotel and some A-list celebrity came last minute, uninvited, and wanted us to bend over backwards. Dixon was not having it. Dixon doesn't care about status; he cares about people. That day he yelled at her agent and then the so-called publicist telling them to go ahead and tell the world how he didn't allow the dumb slut on his property. She still had the nerve to show up and then make a pass at him. It was enough for him at that point he had Simon escort her to her line of cars and off the property. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off the entire time. He was a shade of red I had never seen.

"You think I am going to let you leave?" Edmond said in and even tone.

"You really think you can stop me?" Dixon said as his eyes glazed over, not even a minute later Simon, Colt, Walker, Trevor, and Zane were in the room. "Just remember, Sarah trained them!" He said as he looked at Emi and she stood. "Max, I do apologize. If you want to talk as Laura for my number." Max nodded and Emi grabbed his hand. I stood up and he stopped in front of me. "I tried, but I am no pawn in some game of power." He said looking at me. I reached out and hugged him.

"Text me on the line and take care of her." I tell him as he nods. He knows my secret phone number that Sarah has routed so no one can trace it. Emi looks at me then rushes into me for a hug. I just smile at her. "You are safe, be happy." She nods and takes Dixon's hand again. As they get to the door surrounded by his men, Edmond finally speaks.
