Max – POV

As I walk in the cater kitchen off the Ballroom, I see the 2 men I was itching to get my hands on. Alpha Marcus and Alpha Robert. They are chained to the chairs with silver both sporting some lovely wounds to their bodies. I stop in front of them and put my hands on my hips. "Well fellas, one of you want to give me an excuse for today? Or should we just skip it and go right to the part where I break your necks?" I ask trying to keep my wolf at bay.

I am already on edge due to Laura Grace. The fact she had been doing business with Dixon and didn't tell me was enough. Dixon is a Rogue and doesn't do anything to help packs. He is one of the richest men I know and uses people for his own gain. His Alpha told me he left them with nothing, he took all their money and businesses and deserted one night. The Pack is your family, you should want to protect them and provide for them. I cannot understand how Laura Grace could ever do business with that wolf. It just proved once again she treats our world as if it is beneath the human world, not equal. I just need to educate her.

I didn't bring her in with me now, because I knew these men were not going to leave here breathing. I didn't want her to stop me from doing what needed to be done like she did with Henry. She doesn't understand, trying to kill her is a death sentence. I stand looking at these men and feel a pain in my chest. I know it is her, I know I hurt her. I just need to get through this, and I can go talk to her, tell her I really was wrong, but she must cut all ties with Dixon no matter what. With the pain in my chest I link her, 'Laura Grace, you alright?'

'I am just changing.' She says back to me in our link.

"Where's your Bitch. She gone to be with her lover, Dixon?" Alpha Robert spits out blood as he talks. I punch him again.

"You want those as your last words, that's fine by me!" I take his head and twist. The sound of his neck cracking. Once down. "Well Marcus? I know you were itching for a reason to rise up against us. You thought you had your chance, but the others are not easily swayed I take it." I lean down looking him in the eyes.

"Go ahead, kill me. My son will avenge me!" He yells back at me.

"Was that the kid that looked like you that came over the hill with the warriors? That son?" Sarah asks.

"Yes! He is out there now probably making his way thru the palace. You won't get out of here alive. He will be King!" Marcus snarls.

"Should I tell him or just let him meet him in Hell?" Sarah says nonchalantly.

"You Lycan Whore! What did you do?" Marcus now in shock.

"Poof." Sarah says as she leans down to his ear and says the word ever so quietly.

"NO!" He hangs his head.

"Marcus, I would say I am sorry for your loss, but you brought this on yourself. You lost all your warriors. Your Pack will be without a leader and you will go down as a traitor." I say as I stand and take his head in my hands. Snapping his neck brought me relief. I no longer had to worry about his lies and schemes to come and take the Kingdom. I know the Packs are better off without him. I look over to Sarah and she is linking someone. "Everything good?" I ask her.

"Yes. Area is secure. No threat detected." Sarah tells me. I see she looks a little sad, or just distracted.

"Sarah? What's wrong now?" I ask her.

"We need to talk to Alpha Curt. You need to know the truth." She says as she walks out of the kitchen into the Ballroom. "Alpha Curt?" She calls out.
