Chapter 33

Laura Grace/Gracie/LG – POV

I am standing next to Max on the stage with everyone watching as he askes Kyle to the stage. I expected him to announce the engagement, so I wasn't to worried. Until I hear Edmond in my head. "Oh my dear you look lovely up there. I wish I could record your first act as Queen." Didn't know he could link me! And I started shaking I know Max could feel my anxiety. His hand was so tight holding mine that when he handed me the microphone I could feel him pull me with him as he walked up to Kyle.

Not knowing what he was doing I just went with it will I listed to the words coming out of Max's mouth. "I King Maximus Redding, with your future Queen Laura Grace Richards, release you from your Beta roll and give our blessing on your union to Alpha Elizabeth Golden. We wish you a long and blessed life with your mate."

Wait. Did he just say future Queen? As I tried to step back I felt another hand on me. It was Sarah, she was holding my forearm since I had a microphone in my hand. I know her mission is to calm me down, but all I hear is Edmond. "Oh, dear please do not look so petrified. You were born for this. You are going to do so much more for them as Queen." I can feel the tears falling. Not only realizing what Edmond is saying to me, but that my friend is mated. I feel Max's hand come up and wipe my tears.

He takes the microphone again as he tells me, "We have one more." I am confused. As he continues. "My Betas and I have been blessed by the goddess since coming to your land. As you all know form the other day, I found my mate and so did Kyle, but I also have Beta Travis. Will you and Charlotte please come forward?" This was not on our schedule. He hands me the microphone again as Charlie and Travis make it to the stage. Travis and Charlie bow slightly. As Max does just as he did for Kyle and we walk forward and put our intertwined hands on Travis shoulder as he kneels. "I King Maximus Redding, with your future Queen Laura Grace Richards, release you from your Beta roll and give our blessing on your union to My Cousin Charlotte Redding First Warrior of the Lost Souls Pack. We wish you a long and blessed life with your mate." I could hear some gasps of our pack and Golden Moon Pack find out Charlie is Max's cousin. They then applaud.

As Lizzie steps forward I know she is talking, but I just hear Edmond again. "My lovely girl you know I am so proud of you already." All I do is nod slightly with tears in my eyes. He continues, "You realize the lives you are going to change, not just Max's, but the entire community of wolves. You already have. I can't wait to see what you do as Queen. Please realize we need you as you are. Plus these ladies will become a sister pack to ours and have full protection from any harm, Lost Souls would be untouchable. Please take this time to acknowledge and accept your rightful place." I look up at Max and put my head on his shoulder only realizing now what Lizzie is doing and I smile. As Max kisses my hand. Sarah is still on the other side of me I link Edmond.

"Thank you, Edmond. I needed to hear that I wouldn't be expected to change. Max tells me, but I am glad to hear it from you as well." I say back to him in the link he created.

As I listen to Lizzie finish the ceremony Lizzie looks to me and links me, "You know you are still part of my soul, but we have to..." she links me as she turns to the ballroom. "Thank you everyone for joining us. This has been one of the best Birthday's I have ever had. I have the Mate I always wanted and a pack full of wonderful women that lift me up daily." I see the tears in her eyes ad she looks at me again. "I would not be here without my best friend and future Queen Laura Grace." To which she turns and bows. And I understand now what she is doing. She is letting me go.

I let go of Max's hand and walk to my friend and hold her hands. "I will never be too far." Our tears are rolling down our faces as we hold each other. I can feel the bond with Max get stronger and deeper at that moment. I didn't know it was even possible to have a stronger or have a pull to a mate this strong. I know now I have shown everyone my new role. I let go of Lizzie and link her. "I will always be here for you and I love you." As I turn to look out at my pack and my family. I decide now is the time to embrace it all. I link Mary to bring Champagne.
