When Lindsey got to the hospital, he was met by Karen straight away so he didn't have to fumble with any fake names and possibly get them wrong. Although, the blonde did use Stephanie Buckingham again.
"Hey, so what's going on? Is she okay?" he wondered, following her at top speed since she walked so quickly.
"She's fine, she's in labor. We thought it was just Braxton Hicks since she's had false alarms all week, but she's finally in labor and I brought her this afternoon."
"It's a month early, are there any complications?"
"No, they just said the baby wanted to come early..." she shrugged. "Where's Gwen?"
"At my house with Bobby and her grandparents."
"Oh..." she paused.
"Yeah. I think it would be best if one of us called her. Barbara and Jess should be more than welcome to come if they please."
"I agree," she nodded. "I'll tell her to bring them and we just won't tell Stevie. She doesn't have to know until after everything is over with. Then she can hash out whatever problems she has with them."
He kind of arched a brow to himself only because the woman was so organized compared to Stevie, she had a whole plan for the way the night would go down.
When they approached Stevie's room, he was actually a tad nervous only because she was in labor, he was about to become a father and he was about to see the woman he loved after weeks. He was anxious.
"I'll be out here," she assured as she gestured to the door.
He nodded and then brought his hand to the doorknob. Twisting it, he released a breath and then managed to bring his line of vision upwards, causing his eyes to land on her.
The blonde had her hair in a clip, she was resting her head and back against a few pillows, she was in a hospital gown and though she looked to be in pain; inhaling sharply, she looked calm and beautiful.
"Hey, you," he made his way in, saying so softly.
She smiled weakly since she was overcome with pain. "I'm so glad you're here," she assured, pressing a hand to her tummy and reaching out to him with the other.
"How are you feeling?" he came forward and he took her hand.
"I'm okay... I am wearing out already. I just want this to be over---I'm tired."
"I bet," he kissed the back of her hand.
She closed her eyes in order to take a breath and then she sighed a looked up at him, taking all of him in. "You look really handsome today. I know you didn't get all dressed up for this," she shook her head.
He smirked.
"What were you up to?"
"Gwen, Bobby and I were having dinner."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"No," he chuckled. "It's not your fault... You're fine. Gwen and Bobby were going to finish up and go home. I'll give them a call and they can come over."
She nodded. "They should have time... I've been here since noon and I've only dilated to five. What time is it now?"
Looking down at his watch, "Seven..."
"Ugh, kill me now!" she tossed her head back. "I feel like I'm slowly dying."
"I'm sorry," he brought his hand to her shoulder, rubbing it gently before bringing it to the side of her face. "I feel like you'll survive though."
