It was early morning, Lindsey got up and he got ready so that he could head to the hospital and pick up Stevie.

He picked up the phone and he dialed Bobby's place.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Is Gwen there?"

"Yeah. I'm going to drop her off in an hour or so. She's in the shower---I have no morning class today."

"Okay, perfect. Her mom isn't doing so well since they got into an argument. I don't want her to upset that she's gone again."

"I don't think she has any intentions of staying at places like she did. She knows she can't because of her mom's condition."

"Yeah, I'm just making sure. Alright, I have to go to the hospital right now, but just make sure you guys get home before we do. It'll probably take a minute to get discharged, but I was just letting you know."

"For sure, see you later."

"Bye," he set the phone down. He then slipped into the foyer and he grabbed his heavier jacket out of the front closet and one of Stevie's thicker jackets since he wanted her to be nice and warm---he didn't want her to get sick in the cold weather. Leaning forward to open the door, he stopped in his tracks. "Oh, hey, what are you doing here?"

"I just came to drop the last papers off," Karen leaned forward and she pecked cheeks with him. "Gwen won the lawsuit," she handed over the big orange envelope, full of documents and such things.

Over the last five months to pass, Karen had been in and out of court, settling the lawsuit in which she placed over the kids that raped her along with their parents. Gwen had gone to court only a couple of times, but that was just to testify against them and after that, it was left to Karen and she handled everything right under her boss' nose.

"That's amazing," he beamed.

"Yeah, it is. And here's a letter from the attorney, giving his congratulations. She won twenty-five thousand dollars... When she gets her check, I'll call just so that we can decide what to do with it. I know she doesn't like putting money in her bank account because of her mom. I'll probably just open her a separate account."

"Why doesn't she like to use her account?" he wondered.

"It's jointed with Stevie's since she's a minor and in the past, Stevie pulled her money out to buy drugs when she had no money."

"Oh," he paused, never having heard that before.

"So, I'll probably open a separate account so that she doesn't have to worry about it. She shouldn't cash a twenty-five thousand dollar check and just have it laying around."

"No, I agree. If anything, I don't mind opening account for her. Either way, we have to talk to her first."

"Right. Is she home?"

"No, but she will be in the next hour or so. I talked to Bobby this morning," he walked over and set the envelope on the coffee table. "I'm going to pick Stevie up from the hospital."

"The hospital, what happened?" she wondered since she hadn't gotten any form of information regarding her stay.

"She started having some bleeding the other night and we both got worried, but everything is fine. They said it was just the baby pushing out some last toxins. As of awhile ago, she's been testing completely negative for any drug use."

"That's good. It's been a long time since that's happened. I'm really hoping she doesn't start using again..."

"Well, she said she doesn't want to. She wants to be there for the baby..."
