Misunderstanding

CRIS POV

I saw her leaving me. Why my heart aches when she mentioned that she's married now? What if she leaves me again? I can't afford to lose her anymore.

Someone rings the bell when I was walking downstairs. Opening the door, I saw a man standing before me.

''Hey man... where's my Wife?'', he smirked. I puzzled by his words. ''Hello. I heard Janessa is staying here. Where is her? Damn, I missed her so much'', my expression totally dropped with his words. Now I know. He's the guy who married her.

''No one is here in that name'', I told him seriously.

''But...'', before he says more, I slammed the door on his face.

This can't be happening now...

I need to meet her....

I found Janessa walking in the street. When I was about to go near her, that bastard appears from nowhere before her.

''David?'', Janessa looked shocked.

''Hey my wife, I missed you'', he quickly hugged her which make my blood boils seeing that.

Control Cris... I cannot spoil everything now....

Turning back, I walk out from them. Jane came back home shortly with that bastard.

''Well, I guess this is where she's staying isn't it, pal?'', he was asking me sarcastically.

I didn't say anything but controlling my anger. Janessa brought drinks for us.

''Cris, umm... actually...'', before she introduces him as her husband, I cut her off.

''Jane, I got some urgent works. I will see you later ok'', I fake a smile.

Walking out, I drive my car speedily to nowhere.

David seems friendly and I saw Janessa who looked comfortable around him. She was laughing wholeheartedly, and I saw them being together.

Thinking about it, I couldn't stop myself from getting furious. At night when everyone is sleeping, I storm inside Janessa's room. I know I'm drunk, but I couldn't stop myself. I need her.

''Cris?'', Janessa looked surprised seeing me in her room.

''What's up Cris?'', I saw David who is coming out from her bathroom; smirking at me.

Both are together? At this night? Don't tell me....

Without saying anything, I walked out of her room.

''Cris, wait'', Janessa was calling me from behind. ''Cris?'', she grabbed my hand and turned me back.

''It's not.... what you think'', she explained.

''I can't do this anymore Janessa'', I told her without seeing her. ''Since your husband is here, you can leave my house now'', taking out my hand from her, I walk out from her.

I stayed at my restaurant for a few days. My mind scattered around.

''Cris'', hearing someone calling my name, I saw Nick in front of me. ''You OK?'', he asked me.

I didn't say anything but standing against the window.

''Janessa knows about Maya that time'', his words shocked me. I turned back to see him. ''I went to talk with her about Maya. I'm sorry Cris. I have no choice that time'', he looked sad. ''but that's why I'm here. I want to tell the truth'', he started.

''don't worry Nick. We are not in a relationship since the beginning. And come one.... Between me and her, whom do you think he will choose anyway?'', Janessa smile. ''It's her... you know why?'',

''You guys didn't understand him well. Why he behaves like that when she left him? He's heartbroken! I guess that's what everyone thinks. No, the truth is, after your mother died when he was just 5 years old, Maya filled that gap. That's why he was so in love with her. Because he thinks of her as his second mother'', she told him the truth.

Nick looked shocked.

''You know he always says he likes me but never even once, he told me that he loves me'', I smile weakly. ''now I know'', I turned to see Nick. ''Because Maya will always be his love no matter how many women cross his life'', standing up, she lets a heavy sigh.

''As I said, I've gone through things like this so I can overcome it after couple of days. That's how I am. Moreover, we are not in the serious relationship. And thus, it's a relief for me. Me and him.... No, it won't work out ever. So, leave your worries...'', she said.

I didn't expect this. She knew about it all along. And she... she purposely didn't let me explain about it.

''Yes bro... don't give up on her especially now'', Marlene supported. I saw my sister at the doorway. I know she's married but I don't think she's happy with her marriage. You know what she told me last time when she gave her marriage invitation?'', Marlene looked sad.

''Mar, this is on my own decision. No one forces me. Trust me'', Janessa smiles.

''why? Why you didn't tell the truth to Cris that you know everything?'', Marlene asked.

''You want him to live guiltily?'', Janessa asked her. ''Cris is loyal to love, and he knows exactly how it feels if someone we love to leave us. In case if he says the truth, he will blame himself for my misery. He can't live happily with Maya. That's why I didn't let a chance to Cris to explain anything to me. At least, let him live happily'', Janessa explained.

''She married another guy for you. She doesn't want you to live guiltily'', she added.

God, I don't know...

I sit on the chair while thinking about everything. Her sacrifices for me but yet.... She was smiling; hiding her pains.

''That's why I tell you, Cris. Don't give up now'', she encouraged.

''I need to see her'', grabbing my jacket, I run out of my office. Marlene told me that Janessa is in the house; packing her things. I must talk with her.

I guess the truth is exposed now for Cris and Janessa....
