Mexico, Canada and Greenland were hanging out on their living room couch laughing at the paintings they found in their attic.

"Aw, Nada, you were such a cute toddler," Greenland said. Canada laughed.

"Eh, the artist definitely painted me to look cuter than I was," Canada said.

"Ha! Look at Ame!" Mexico exclaimed, pointing at a painting that depicted a preteen America wearing goofy royal clothing. America walked in the room and smiled, seeing the old paintings that were strewn all over the place.

"are we reminiscing again?" America asked, sitting next to Mexico on the couch.

"Yeah, I just remembered how funny you looked in these clothes," Mexico said.

"They were always so tight," America said, thankful that he no longer had to be dressed like a prince every day.

"At least it gave me the advantage when we play fought. I always kicked your butt," Mexico exclaimed. America scoffed jokingly.

"Hmm... I remember you two said you hated each other before you became roommates... where was the shift between play mates and sworn enemies?" Greenland asked.

"Oh... that's a looooong and sad tale," America said.

"Tell it! It's not like we have anything better to do," Greenland said. America, Mexico and Canada glanced at each other. America sighed.

"Well.... I guess I should start from the very beginning, before me and Mexico were even born......

It was a time where powerful empires reigned over the lands. Fierce kings and queens would struggle in ferocious battles to reach the top.

Among these fierce empires, deep in the shadows, were their heirs. Everyday, they were trained to perfection and reminded of one thing, their purpose in life; to carry the legacy of their forefathers and expand on to the legacy, to then pass onto their future heirs.

These princesses and princes had hardly anyone to turn to, especially knowing that their only potential friends were perceived as enemies to their parents. However, this didn't stop these princes and princesses from sneaking into the forest when they had a chance, and finally connect with each other. It was almost like a secret society in the forest, where those lonely children could finally find someone to relate to.

Such was the case with Britain and France. They met young, and grew up in each other's company. Their fathers were usually busy, so they always found opportunities to sneak off and see each other. They were in love, but knew that if their parents found out it would cause unthinkable consequences. Soon, France was put into an arranged marriage with Spanish Empires son, Spain.

In that time, France got pregnant with twins. Spanish Empire was pleased at the thought of two male heirs, and once they were born he immediately picked out the eldest twin to be the center of attention. Soon, France got pregnant once more with another son. Spanish empire was again pleased, but also skeptical as to why France seemed to sneak away into the forest every day for seemingly no reason.

One day, he decided to see why himself.

When he found her with British Empires son, he immediately exiled her back to her father, and sent her children with her. When the news reached British Empire, his fury peaked. He was determined to get his heirs back from Ancien Régime, no matter how long it took. He was able to get the twins, but Ancien was not giving up the youngest son so easily. It was a fierce battle, lasting seven years.

However, while the Empires were caught up in their own drama, Spain was getting himself into some drama as well. While taking a walk through the forest, he met a beautiful woman named Aztec Empire. While his father was out fighting, he would visit her and tell her all about his fathers kingdom. In turn, she would tell him mythical tales of her people. The two had built up a strong connection, and eventually, they had a child. When Spanish Empire found out Spain had a child with Aztec, whom he declared to be a 'savage', he took the newborn and sent Aztec to be executed.

At this point, the seven year war had finally come to a close. British Empire got all three of his heirs, and forced his son Britain into an arranged marriage as punishment for his rebellious behavior.

And if you think all of that was too much, that's only the beginning....,"
