"Wow..... that's a lot....," Greenland said.

"Yeah.... and we're not even at World War One yet...," America said.

"Let's skip ahead to that part...," Canada said.

"Yeah....," America said.

Mexico was standing in German Empires dim office, his arms crossed.

"So... why did you call me here?" Mexico asked.

"Mexico... I called you here for a proposition.... I'm sure you know of what's been going on in Europe, and I was looking towards an alliance with you," German Empire said.

"Well.... what's in it for me?" Mexico asked.

"If you help me, I'll help you. I'll help you wage war against America, and help you get back some of your lost territory. Does that sound like a deal?" German Empire asked. Mexico was silent for a moment.

"....I'll think about it," Mexico said.

"Good, I hope to see you back here soon," German Empire said.

However, what both of them didn't know, was that there was one more person listening in on this proposition. A certain Empire.

Canada and his family were having dinner at the dining table. Years and years have passed, and with it came years of change. Ever since Britain's alliance with France, British Empire allowed them to get married. It wasn't a relationship he was too keen on, but his old age was rendering him a lot more passive. he also let Australia out of the dungeon. (which at this point was abandoned, since they had ditched the palace and moved into a mansion instead).

Canada still wasn't used to seeing his sister, especially not with a smile. However, Australia was barely his sister anymore. She had cut her hair, and refused any clothes that where not stereotypically masculine. British Empire would glare at her every time she walked in the room, but Britain and France didn't mind. To them, it was just a phase. Despite all these changes, Canada was accepting this new normal, being able to see his parents together and his sister.

But that night in particular wasn't quite as normal as it was. British Empire seemed nonchalant, yet extremely focused on the newspaper he was reading. During dinner, everyone was trying to figure out what exactly was on his mind. Eventually, Britain broke the silence.

"Father? Is everything alright?" Britain asked. British empire nodded, flipping the page of his newspaper.

"How willing do you think America would be to come over for dinner?" British Empire asked. Everyone stared at him in shock.

"Well... I'm not sure how willing he'd be-,"

"What if I told him German Empire was planning on an alliance with Mexico, to wage war against him," British Empire said. Everyone was silent, shock still covering their faces. "No matter, I'm inviting him anyways... maybe he'll be all the help we'll need to finally take German Empire down," British Empire said. Canada, along with everyone, was silent still, the words his grandfather spoke still echoing in his mind...

Canada had seen his brother before, albeit mostly in political situations. Those interactions were nothing to the brothers, who barely registered the fact they were speaking to one another. In fact, most of the time it was one of his states dealing with trade and other things. But at a family dinner... how much would this change? Would he finally see his real brother again? That night, Canada hung out with his siblings in the garden.

".... do you think he'll recognize us?" New Zealand asked.

"I dunno... I barely see him. I only see his states. Maybe he just doesn't like being around British Empire," Australia said.

"Maybe.... but.... I think he'll recognize us....don't you remember how things were before he ran away?" Canada said, happily recalling them playing with Thirteen in the palace halls.

"Yeah, but a lot has changed since then," Australia said. Canada sighed.

"Well then... I guess we'll just have to hope," Canada said.
