A toy not to break

Hisoka POV

I watched the girl in the hospital bed. She had fainted the moment Illumi left. Doctor said she had a very high fever that she would be fine tho. I was relieved.

I played with her soft locks of white hair. She looked just like the 5 siblings. I was certain that she was in fact an Anderson. But I couldn't sense that she was lying to Illumi. Perhaps they didn't tell her she was related.

I had seen an Anderson fight before. It was brief but amazing. He effortlessly killed. Flawlessly. I admired his power. I wanted to fight him, but for the first time in my life I didn't think i would win. I was afraid for the first time since I was a child.

Luna was originally another toy of mine. Someone I wanted to raise up so I could cut her down at her peak. Like a flower, I wanted to let her grow and bloom, so I could pluck her at her prime. But now I feel different.

When I look at her lying in this bed, I don't want her to be gone. I want her to stay here and grow strong, but not so I can take her out. It's something different. When Illumi told me he wanted to talk to her, I felt protective of her.

I wrapped my hand around her tiny neck and started to squeeze. Harder and harder and harder. She's so fragile and weak. I could kill her right now if I wanted. This Anderson girl is nothing but a dumb 8 year old girl. Her life was in my hands. I tightened my grip harder drifting off in my own thoughts until a soft cold hand wrapped around my arm breaking me from my thoughts.

I looked down at the girl I was strangling. Tears pricked the edge of her eyes but her eyes weren't filled with fear or hate. Just confusion. She used both her little hands to yank me off of her but she was weak from lack of oxygen. I instantly released my grip on her taken aback with myself. I heard her suddenly gasp for air as she coughed.

Didn't I have any self control. Why was I doing that? I don't want to hurt this girl.

"Hisoka what's the big deal?" She said after catching her breath.

" I just wanted to wake you up my little Ace" I lied putting on a full tooth smile hoping she couldn't see the conflict I was having with myself.

"There are better ways to wake someone up" she said rubbing her neck and sitting up.

" You passed out from a fever. You'll be fine in a few days." I said before getting up and leaving the girl behind.
