Luna POV
We waited patiently for the rest of the participants to finish and then we moved on to the next phase. Something about stealing someone's badge while they try to take yours. If I was gonna become a hunter I needed to stop moping and get over what happened to stay alert. After we pulled our targets and got on the boat I walked over to where Gon and Killua were.
"Who'd you get?" I asked the boys as they looked up at me.
"Nun ya" Killua said, clutching his target closer to his chest.
"I didn't get either of you two" Gon said
"Me neither" Killua and I mumbled glaring a bit at each other.
A short awkward silence passed before Gon spoke up.
"Show each other on 3" Gon questioned
"Sure"
"1...2...3"
We all revealed our targets and I was less than happy to see that Gon's target was Hisoka. I offered to switch with him but he said he was kinda excited and refused. Killua's target was one of the three brothers number 199 and I had number 198.
"Hey Killua do you know who your target is?" I asked
"Hmm." he looked down at his number "No I can't remember"
"It's one of the three brothers," I said, lowering my voice. "I have one of the brothers too, so since they are always together would you mind me tagging along with you?"
"You'll only slow me down" he huffed
"Pleaseeee" I whined
"Fine fine whatever, but I'm not gonna be babysitting. You better be able to keep up" he groaned
"Yeah sure whatever"
I then left the boys once again to find Tonpa.
"Hey Tonpa, how have you been?"
"Hmmm. Oh hey Luna. I'm ok, I might actually pass this year it seems." he chuckled
"I hope you do" I smiled
"Here's some friendly advice. Don't start chasing your target right away. Wait until the last day to try to get it that way once you steal it there's less chance they'll take it back. Oh and also I would wear my badge out. It will make whoever is hunting you uneasy, it's like a confidence thing. Notice how the only people who are still wearing their badges are super strong." he explained as I looked around to see he was right.
"Good idea Tonpa. Man you're the best" I said running and giving him a big hug.
Soon we arrived at the island and we all started to make our way off the boat. Since I finished before Kil I had to wait for him to get off and noted which direction other contestants went.
