Not long after the second part started everyone started to split up. I was running when I noticed Hisoka. I was going to run up to him seeing that he was the only person I knew around, but I heard the men around him talking about taking him out. I quickly ran through them into the middle right next to Hisoka. I grabbed his hand as he looked down at me.
"We need to get you out of here Hisoka" I said with my serious face as I continued to look around at the glaring men.
He chuckled a bit before allowing me to guide him farther away from the men. That's when I saw Gon running towards the front.  I wanted to run to him but I also wanted to make sure Hisoka would be alright. The men were a little farther back now so I tugged on Hisoka's hand signaling to lean down. He did so and I whispered in his ear.
"Stay away from those men, Hisoka, they we're talking about doing bad things to you" I said before running off toward Gon.
As I reached Gon he looked over at the white haired boy.
"Look Killua, it's Luna." he grinned at me. "Do you happen to know which way the examiner went, we got kinda lost" he admitted.
"No I lost him too" i sighed
"Of course you did," Killua growled grabbing Gon's wrist and running ahead. I really couldn't stand that kid. I sighed and looked behind me to see that Hisoka and all those men were no where to be seen.
I panicked a bit as I ran back to go save him. After a bit of running I saw him. The men were surrounding him, but he didn't really look that scared. I hid behind a tree to see what would happen.
"When I saw you last year, I knew you weren't hunter material" I heard one of the guys say. I gritted my teeth. What did they know? Hisoka was more than capable of becoming a hunter.
"We'll spare you if you swear not to take the Hunter Exam again." another man called out.
"Sure" Hisoka called out. The shock on the men's faces was priceless. "I'm passing the exam this year, so I won't need to retake it." Hisoka finished.
I giggled a bit to myself.
"Passing? Idiot! Look at this fog. It's impossible to determine which direction the main pack went!" a man yelled out
"Meaning we've all failed the exam!" another yelled. They really were the glass is half empty kinda people weren't they.
Hisoka chuckled which kinda creeped me out. "So that's why. Having already failed, you wish to play examiner. Hunters require prey. Why don't I play examiner and judge whether you are hunter material." he finished smiling slightly with his eyes closed.
Suddenly he lifted up a card and the men all went to attack him at once.
"Nooooo" I screamed, catching the attention of all the men as Hisoka swiped his card around killing all but one.
I stumbled when I saw the mens bodys drop down to the ground lifeless. I stared at the scene in front of me emotionless as Hisoka toyed with and finished off the last guy. He then turned to face the woods so I turned and looked there too. There were two boys I recognized as people who Gon and Killua hung out with. I got a bit defensive as Hisoka began to toy with them, but was torn on what I should do. That's when all of a sudden the two men ran as fast as they could in opposite directions.
After Hisoka turned to look at me unamused. However I was not scared as he stared down at me. I stood up and looked straight back at him.
"You killed all those men," I said flatly.
"They wanted to kill me" he said back.
Suddenly the old man from before came back and tried to attack Hisoka. I stood there shocked as the two "fought" if you could even call it that. But before much happened A red ball hit Hisoka in the face. We all turned to see a little boy slightly hidden by the fog.
"Gon" the older man shouted as my eyes widened.
What do I do. I can't let Hisoka kill Gon and I can't let Gon kill Hisoka and we were all running out of time to finish this phase anyway. I knew I couldn't take Hisoka on my own but more importantly i didn't want to fight anyone. That's why I was here in the first place. To get away from all the fighting and death.
Hisoka's voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Not bad, little boy" he said as Gon clutched on to his fishing rod a bit tighter. "Is that a fishing pole? What a fascinating weapon. Allow me a closer look" he continued as he walked closer to the boy.
All of a sudden the old man got up and tried to attack Hisoka. However Hisoka punched him so hard his body flew and he was unconscious. Gon took that moment as a time to attack, but before he could make contact Hisoka disappeared. He continued to tease the poor boy talking about being a good friend and something about his expression getting him excited, but I didn't quite understand.
Suddenly Hisoka had grabbed Gon's neck and held his body high above the ground. It all happened so fast. I ran over to where Hisoka held the boy and grabbed tightly on his arm.
"Hisoka stop that's enough. Let him go, he's my friend." I pleaded but he ignored me and stared at Gon's face as he slowly lost the strength to fight back. I watched as time started to run out for my little friend so I let a bit of my bloodlust out targeting it at Hisoka.
Suddenly hisoka dropped the boy and looked at me. I contained my bloodlust at once and rushed over to gon.
"Gon are you ok, are you hurt anywhere" I babbled as he was coughing fiercely trying to catch his breath. Suddenly Hisoka walked over to where we were and I got ready to fight back, but he crouched down and let go of all his murderous intent,
"Don't worry I won't kill your friend" he said looking over to Leorio, "He passed. So did you two" he said before grabbing my wrist and pulling me over to where Leorio was.
"I'm gonna take these two to the second phase. Do you think you can find it on your own?"
Gon nodded and Hisoka threw Leorio over his shoulder and grabbed my wrist tightly as he dragged me into the woods.
