"Good morning, Erin." She said with a small smile, and turned to Voight. "Hank Voight. I'm Erin's-" Erin cut him off. "Father for all intents and purposes." Dr Hanley extended her hand for him to shake before turning back to Erin. "I see you've already settled in okay, that's good. How are you feeling today, any new symptoms arise?" "I had a bit of a bit of pain and nausea yesterday while out getting a few things, but nothing serious." She said in a very nonchalant way. Dr Hanley scribbled something down on the clip board she was carrying. "Alright, well now that you're settled we can dive right in and get your treatment going. I do want to let you know the side effects of this chemo are pretty severe, but not all of them may occur. Though you would have read about, but I'll go over them once more. Things such as hair loss, extreme nausea, loss of appetite, general achey or tired feeling can occur. Anemia and oral sores, you may even find changes in your mood and concentration are interrupted - they call it 'Cancer brain', and finally in your case this is more likely - infertility." Erin nodded as the doctor listed off everything she wasn't completely mentally prepared for, but tried to keep her game face on. She drifted from the conversation as she thought about the next month of her life, or maybe not making it through this and what everyone's lives would be like if she didn't. "Erin?" "Sorry, what?" "I was asking if you'd like to change first and then we can get you prepped for chemotherapy?" She nodded and stood from the bed, grabbing the handle of her bag and heading into the privacy of the bathroom. As she changed, she could hear the hushed tones from the two chatting, and strained to listen. "So this chemo, does it come with a guarantee that the tumor will be next to nothing?" Silence. "Honestly, with how large the tumor was, we're hoping for at least some size difference. Which is why we went with this level of drug to use. By the end of the month, we'll know for sure what our next step is and make sure that Erin also has the last say. We just hope it doesn't come down to another round after this months." The chatter died and she finished packing away her clothes before entering the room again. The doctor greeted her with another small smile. "Now, you have the option of being able to receive your chemo from the comfort of your hospital room while you're with us, so the nurses will be in to set you up just as soon as we finish here. Do you have any questions at all for me, before I leave you to it?" Erin shook her head. "I'll be checking in on you before I head out for the evening, please let the nurses on today knowing you need anything at all. I'll see you in a few hours."
