The hours flew by, as Erin slept in Jays arms and Voight dozed off in the chair next to them. Jay's phone buzzed, an incoming text from Al that there was new information for the case and he was needed back at the precinct as soon as possible. He looked down at Erin's sleeping form, and tried his best to slide himself out of the bed without waking her. Pressing a feather light kiss to her forehead, he pulled the blankets up to her chin and headed for the door after alerting Voight about the case update.

The loss of extra heat had roused her awake minutes later and she pulled herself up in the bed, looking around in confusion. "He had to head back to the station, they caught some updates on the case." She turned to look at Voight, as she rubbed a hand down her face. "How long was I out this time?" "Few hours, it's almost midnight." "I guess I should get used to sleeping, it's all I feel like doing." He nodded. "Understandably. Do you feel like trying to eat something now?" She contemplated it, knowing she really should. "I guess so." She leaned over and hit the call button. Mia entered moments later and filled an order form for some late night supper. "I'll bring it by as soon as they're finished. How are you feeling?" Erin settled back down beneath the blankets. "It's been pretty quick paced as far as the symptoms Dr.Hanley told me about, and I don't think I've ever slept so much in my life." Mia nodded as she slipped the notepad out of her pocket to let the doctor know when she saw her.
"It's good that it's working so quickly. I'm sorry it's so aggressive." She and Mia turned their sights toward the doorway where Dr.Hanley stood now. "Has there been any increase in the nausea, or vomiting? Chills?" Erin nodded, as the doctor moved around to the I.V pole as the second bag dripped. "Good news is that this is the last bag for this week, so we won't have to do the next cycle until next week. The bad news is the symptoms won't be going anywhere, and you'll probably experience a little bit of weakness from sleeping so much, so just be mindful of that if you try to leave the bed, okay? I'll be back in tomorrow afternoon to check in on you, but Mia here is fantastic and she'll be here until I arrive. Have a good night Erin. Sergeant." She waved them off as she left the room, Mia following behind. "I am so not ready for a week of puking." She sighed. "I'm just glad it's doing it's job, kid. Trust me, if I could take it on for you; I would. " Voight's gruff voice followed up. She gave him a small smile as he leaned forward. "I know you would, you always have. Thank you." She finished the sentence with a yawn. "How about another show until that meal gets here? Keep you awake at least?" "That'd be fine." They kept busy with some top rated show on Netflix until Mia showed up with a tray and set it up in front of her. She hadn't made it through the full meal when the nausea hit once more, and she was exhausted afterward. "I'll make sure we get an anti nausea medication added to your round of meds by morning, I'm so sorry Erin." "Not your fault, this chemo is just kicking my ass." She swore. "It's good that you're still trying to get something into your system though. You're one  strong fighter." 'I'm not feeling very strong.' She thought to herself as she popped a mint offered from Voight into her mouth, and laid back. "Get some more rest, and I'll check back in a few hours." She patted Erin's shoulder and left the room.
