i was awakened by the sound of what i thought was my alarm. i attempted to turn it off. i sighed after i realized it was a phone call, grabbing my phone from my bedside table. i squinted, my eyes adjusting to the bright light.

i accepted the facetime, still extremely sleepy since it was so early in the morning. i crashed almost immediately last night as i got home after being so tired from being out with noah for most of the day.
"hiiii," i muttered groggily. it was too dark for him to see me, thankfully, because i probably looked like shit since i just woke up.
"y/n-" he said almost immediately with uneasiness in his voice.
"yeah?" i asked him in confusion, scratching my eyes.
"did you see the article?" he asked me. his tone was serious and deep. i felt my heart skip a beat, fear striking my chest. i didn't know of any article.
"what article?" i sat up, asking him concernedly.
"the one about you and noah? it's all over twitter and stuff," he told me.
"oh god," i mumbled, searching it up in safari. it popped up instantly, reading out 'NOAH SCHNAPP GIRLFRIEND?!' i put my hand over my mouth, reading through it. i didn't even know paparazzi were there at the time.
"it says you guys-" louis started, before i interrupted him,
"WOAH HOLD ON- wait i- this is fake, louis!" i nearly screamed. "there's no way you believe this? i swear we didn't fucking kiss,"
"i mean, i- of course, i don't believe it," he said softly, in contrast to my voice.
"louis," i said calmly.
"yeah?" he replied.
"please, we didn't kiss. he knows i'm dating you, we would never- i would never do that. these people are always making up this shit and speculating when me and noah are nothing more than friends," i explained, careful with my words, "and the thing on twitter- there was a girl who came up to noah, she's a fan, i'm assuming, and she claims she saw us kiss. there's literally no proof, because we didn't kiss i-"
"y/n," louis laughed softly, "i believe you,"
"thank god," i sighed in relief. "you aren't mad, are you?" i asked him.
"'course not, i know how social media can be," he said understandingly.
i put my face in my hands, i was too tired for this. "i'll ask noah to talk about the situation."
"alright," he said, "anyways, good morning,"
"morning," i groaned. i rolled over to the other side of my bed, enjoying the cold. he gave a soft chuckle, giving me so many butterflies in my stomach.
we stayed on facetime for a few more hours until he had to go.
