Chapter two The Eye Of The Storm

March 2nd 2050

The whole world was in a state of shock, a huge storm had appeared out of nowhere and at the centre of it, just 5 miles outside of Washington City, was a huge ball of blue electricity. It was the size of Manhattan Island and was just standing there, on the ground. The United States Army had surrounded it and over 1 million people were behind the U.S Army, eager to see this ginormous ball of electricity. President Myers was in the room where his cabinet met and Secretary of Defence Joanna Coppertone said "Mr President, that thing is huge and potentially dangerous, I vote we keep the Army positioned around it until we know more about it". President Myers scratched his head and said "For now we must assure the public that we are doing everything we can and we should know more soon". Mary then rushed in through the door and looked like she had seen a ghost. "Mary, what's the matter?" asked Myers. Mary then said "Turn on the tv, your not gonna believe what I saw". Secretary of Education Prickly then picked up a remote and turned the Tv on the wall on. It was a breaking news report that was on every channel! The news reporter, Lana Valine, was standing behind the troops that were positioned around the electro ball. She was a very famous news reporter of Afro-American heritage and said the camera. "This is Lana Valine reporting live from the Electro Ball. 5 minutes ago, a soldier stepped forward and placed his hand on the electro ball. He disappeared in a flash of lightning and then appeared on the other side of it 1 minute later". President Myer's jaw dropped, He knew the Electro Ball was weird but this was unbelievable and unexplainable! "How is that even possible?!" asked Vice-President Roan, with shock in his voice. The footage of this oddity then played and the world was now even more shocked than ever. President Myers thought for a moment and said "Get the Mobile Cabinet ready, we're headed out there."

Just 1 hour and 30 minutes later, the Mobile Cabinet arrived at the Electro Ball. Over 10,000 soldiers surrounded it and a million civilians were behind them. At least 58 news Hover Copters were hovering around it and one then ventured to close and was zapped by the Electro Ball! The crowd gasped in shock as the Hover Copter vanished into thin air, but it then re-materialised on the other side of it and was in perfect shape. As President Myers stepped out of the Mobile Cabinet he said "What the heck is going on around here?". Mary stepped out and said "I have no idea". "I don't think anyone does" said Roan. President Myers, Vice President Roan and Mary Myers, all walked towards General Rodney Greene. General Greene saluted the President and said "Sir, that thing is not humanly possible". President Myers shook his head and said "Looks like the impossible has just been made possible". Mary looked at it with confusion and curiosity. She picked up a rock and threw it at the Electro Ball with a slingshot. Just as expected, the rock came out the other side and landed on the ground. "Honestly, what on Earth is that thing?" she asked herself. Just then, General Greene saw something strange in the Electro Ball, a strange bright light was coming out of it and as it got brighter, the people could clearly see some sort of vehicle, inside the Electro Ball! It was hard to make out due to the Electro Ball, but there clearly was a vehicle. All of a sudden, the headlamps of which the lights were being emitted from, poked out of the Electro Ball, then the front of the vehicle, then the tires and finally the whole Vehicle! It was the size of 3 houses stacked on top of each other, was half the length of a stadium and had mounted guns all over it! The crowd gasped in shock, but then they saw that there were people on it! Some were wearing ragged civilian clothing, while others wore the clothing of professional soldiers. It was a military vehicle and it looked ready for a fight. Just then, another vehicle came out that looked just like it and then 98 more did! All coming out of this huge ball of electricity. "WHAT ON EARTH?!" shouted General Greene, as the huge tank like vehicles came out of every side of the Electro Ball that was close enough to the ground. Just then, soldiers started coming out as well! They were armed with weapons that were years ahead of what the U.S Army had to offer and the guns looked like they really could pack a hell of a punch. "Holy ship!" Mary thought to herself, as armoured vehicles started coming out as well. Trucks were coming out to, with civilians inside of them. The majority of them were dressed in rugged clothes and had looked like they had been through Hell. The older soldiers had obviously seen their fair share of war, it was not uncommon to see some of them with robotic limbs that had been attached to them in order to replace the ones that were now departed from them and a few even had eye patches. Tanks then started coming out and after just 10 minutes, a whole army of 100,000 soldiers and 400,000 civilians were out of the Electro Ball!

The crowd had been moved back by the United States Army to make room for these mystery people and Hover Copters were flying over them like mad. That's when the storm started to clear and all of a sudden the Electro Ball had vanished into thin air. The world couldn't believe it, half a million people had come out of the Electro Ball and 20 percent of them were army personnel. A strange flag also flew from the vehicles, it was of no flag ever seen before, it had 3 stripes facing downwards, the one in the middle was black, while the other two were as red as blood. There was a star as yellow as the sun and the mystery soldiers were saluting it. Mary, her father, the cabinet and the U.S Army, were only 50 feet away from these soldiers, who were all just staring at them. The soldiers looked at President Myers as if he were an ancient painting in a museum. President Myers stepped forward and asked them "Who are you people and what do you want?" Of the 100 huge vehicles that were there, one of them was painted a crimson red and was even more armed than the others. The door on it opened and a man in Army uniform stepped out. A soldier with the rank of Major then shouted "BATALLION, SALUTE!" The soldiers then saluted this man as he walked towards the President. He was 5 feet tall and had a huge scar on his face. It went under the eyepatch where his left eye once was, went down his upper cheek and ended just above the mouth. He had multiple glistening medals on his uniform and a teenager who looked no older than Mary was walking with him. The kid looked just like him, he had the mans face, hair, skin colour and eyes. As the man got closer, they could see that he had the rank of General and the boy next to him said "Dad, did we make it?". This confirmed what many people had suspected, the boy was his son. "I think we have, Hunter" said this mystery General.

He stepped forward and asked "What's the date?" The crowd was confused, this man had asked the date of all things? Vice President Roan then said "2nd of March, 2050". The soldiers had this look of relief on their faces as the Mystery General introduced himself. "General Hunter Spears Padlock, Free People's Army, very nice to meet you President Myers". Myers reluctantly shook hands with this man and asked "Where on Earth did you come from General Padlock?" General Padlock simply turned to a police officer and said "You have technology that can scan my face and confirm my identity?" The officer said "Yes". General Padlock then said with a serious stare "I request you scan me then". The officer stepped forward and used the scanning device. It looked like a device you would usually see scan a product at a shop, but it was far more advanced than that. It scanned his face and President Myers looked at the results. He was shocked at what he saw on the DNA scanner and said "We cant find your face anywhere, same goes for DNA match, no drivers licence, no birth certificate, no social media accounts, no passport, no even a student ID". Vice President Roan then said "That means that you sir have gone so far of the grid, you don't even exist!". General Padlock chuckled and said "That wouldn't be surprising". Mary stepped forward and asked "Why?" It was then that General Padlock's son Hunter, saw Mary and she was the most beautiful girl he ever saw. She was so naturally beautiful and her makeup only improved her look. Mary also saw how attractive looking Hunter was, especially with his physical strength. The two of them were just staring at each other like moths to a flame. General Padlock looked at them and jokingly said "Are you two gonna kiss?", Laughter was then heard from the crowd and Hunter said "No I uh, just thinks she looks nice". President Myers chuckled as well and asked "How is it that we cant find you anywhere in our database?" General Padlock sighed and said "Very well then, you see Mr President, we come from a world where there are only 1 billion humans left, a world where humanity has thought a 4 decade long war and is only just recovering, that world is....." He paused for 3 seconds to build up the suspense and then said to the news drones "2150".
