March 27th 2120

War-Nets fortress in San Francisco was huge, before the war it was a local park, but now a huge wall had been built around it and War Machines were guarding the fortress. The wall was 30 feet high, had War-Corpses walking on top of it and was made of concrete and metal. Skeletons were all around the base of the wall and were in huge piles. Inside were recharging stations for the War Machines, a depot for the 50 War-Rex's stationed their, another for the 5 thousand War-Corpses and one more for the 100 War-Eagles. Each was shaped like a airplane hanger and had recharging stations inside. The recharging stations were tables made of titanium and had wires that pumped power into the War-Machines when they needed to be recharged. It was now the middle of the day and half of the War Machines were now on re-charge. It would take about one hour to fully recharge them all and once that was done, they would continue their murderous rampages.

Meanwhile at a nearby safehouse, General Julie Myers was with a large strike force, whose mission was to destroy the transmitter so that War-Net could not send in anymore machines. The windows of the safehouse were covered up with planks of wood, so War-Net could not see them and the soldiers were readying themselves for the battle ahead. Julie picked up her binoculars and looked out the small hole to see the fortress. She saw the hangers, the War-Machines and the transmitter. It was 3 times the size of a War-Rex. She opened her bag, picked up a canteen and drunk the boiled water from it. She turned to Colonel Nickolas Greene and asked "Is everyone in position?". Colonel Greene smiled and said "We're ready". Julie then got out a key and opened up a box that contained a robotic pigeon. She picked it up and said "Place the EMP in the pigeon". "Yes Ma'am" said a soldier. The EMP was placed inside the pigeon, along with over 100 others that were in a large room with a hole in the ceiling and Julie said "Unleash them". Colonel Greene pressed a button and all 100 swarmed out of the building and towards the fortress. The War-Corpses on the wall took notice and started shooting at them. A few EMP Pigeons were hit and went KABOOM! Electro Magnetic Pulses went of, deactivating the War-Corpses on the wall. This allowed the EMP Pigeons to get through and land at their targets. They swarmed into the hangers and went of, disabling a large portion of the War-Machines that were on recharge, as well as the recharging stations themselves. The number of War-Machines that were disabled were 2500 War-Corpses, 50 War-Eagles and 25 War-Rex's. Moments later a large horn was blown and Julie Myers shouted out "FOR THE PEOPLE!" 10,000 Free People's Army soldiers then swarmed out of surrounding buildings and hidden sewer entrances, attacking the fortress with all of their courage and valour. The War-Machines quickly rushed into action, marching to the wall in order to stop the Free People's Army from getting through. Just at the automated defence turrets on the wall, that were all the size of a car, started shooting at the charging soldiers, motor shells came flying at them and destroyed the entire northern part of the wall! The Army poured in through there and battled the War-Machines inside. F.P.A soldiers shot at War-Machines all around them, soldiers with EMP bazookas shot the War-Eagles down with cleverly aimed headshots, Infantryman shot at the spines of the War-Corpses to cripple them, the Free People's Army even had a few tanks disguised as destroyed tanks that they used to destroy the War-Rex's in their tracks. War-Corpses shot at the F.P.A soldiers with their plasma guns, but the soldiers had re-enforced plasma proof armour, so it took a hell of a lot more shots to take them down. War-Eagles flew through the air to try and provide air support, but F.P.A attack hover copters that they had secured from pre-war Army depots, started shooting the War-Eagles to the ground and as they crashed they destroyed even more War-Corpses! War-Rex's tried to butcher the soldiers with their miniguns, but the F.P.A tanks started blowing them up. The attack had been timed perfectly and was paying of. While the soldiers attacked, an F.P.A band in a nearby safehouse sang "The People's Cry of Freedom" for moral support.

Oh we'll rally round the flag boys, we'll rally once again,

Shouting the people's cry of freedom,
And we'll rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom.

(Chorus)

Democracy forever, hurrah! boys, hurrah!
Down with oppression and up with freedom!
While we rally round the flag, boys, we rally once again,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!

Oh we're springing to the call for three hundred thousand more,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!
And we'll fill the vacant ranks with a million freemen more,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!

(Chorus)

We will welcome to our numbers the equal, free and brave,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!
And although we are at stake, we will never be slaves
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!

(Chorus)

So we're springing to the call, from the People and our peers
Shouting the People's cry of Freedom!
And we'll hurl the machines of war for the People we love so very deer,
Shouting the People's cry of Freedom!

(Chorus)

Democracy forever, hurrah! boys, hurrah!
Down with oppression and up with freedom!
While we rally round the flag, boys, we rally once again,
Shouting the People's cry of freedom!

The battle was intense, all around the fortress, soldiers and War-Robots alike were shooting at one another, trying to kill each other. War-Eagles tried to provide air support for the War-Corpses and War-Rex's, but were shot down by troops with EMP bazookas. War-Rex's were being destroyed by F.P.A tanks left and right. War-Corpses were being shot apart by F.P.A soldiers as they scrambled to action. F.P.A soldiers shot the heads of the War-Corpses as the band sang the People's cry of Freedom and tanks raced into the battle to secure victory. War-Net was seeing all of this and redirected an extermination unit to the city to defeat the Human Rebel forces.

20 long minutes passed and there was still no sign of victory for either side. Finally F.P.A attack choppers destroyed the last of the War-Eagles and the tanks shot down the last remaining War-Rex. Just 10 minutes later the last of the War-Corpses fell to the ground and the soldiers cheered that the battle was won! General Julie Myers walked on top of a fallen War-Rex with the Great People's Banner in hand and plunged it into the optic of the destroyed abomination! The soldiers cheered her on as she said "San Francisco is OURS!" Of the 10,000 soldiers who fought in this battle, only 8,000 made it and it would take time to give the dead ones proper funerals. Hunter and Jess saw all of this and knew that they had to take their chance. They had snuck out of the People's Fortress through a ventilation shaft and made their way to the battle. They were hiding behind an old car, just outside the fortress and Hunter said "Lets go". Jess nodded as they left the car and made their way through the hole in the wall. Luckily none of the soldiers saw them as they snuck past piles of damaged War-Robots. They eventually arrived at the transmitter and Hunter asked Jess "Do you have the kill code that Wrench gave you?" Jess nodded and got the instructions out of her bag. She then said "We have to place this USB stick into the input hole and the transmitter will send it to every War-Robot within a 250 mile radius, shutting them down the moment they enter it". Hunter looked over to see the entrance pot on the transmitter, it was just big enough for them to get through and the soldiers were busy getting the explosives to blow up the transmitter. Hunter knew a distraction had to be made and noticed an old fire hydrant. Its pipe went all the way to the destroyed War-Rex they were hiding behind. Hunter opened the gutter and saw the pipe. He turned the wheel and the fire hydrant started blowing water out of it like a bullet from a gun! The startled soldiers went to investigate and while they were distracted, Hunter and Jess made their way to the entrance point. When they arrived, Hunter got out a screwdriver and undid the bolts on it, he got it of as quietly as he could. Finally Hunter got it open and the two started to crawl inside. Suddenly Jess felt someone place their hand on her shoulder and heard a familiar voice say "What are you two doing here?" They both awkwardly looked to see General Julie Myers.
