Chapter Twenty One Farewell To The Future

March 2nd 2150

It had been five years since the reactivation of Project Tick Tock and now it was complete, the tesla coils were in place and had charged up and formed the Electro Ball to send the time travellers to the year 2050 to warn the past not to create War-Net. They were set up in a large field, just outside of New San Francisco. The Free People's Army was getting ready to be sent back in time to prevent the War of Annihilation and were saying their goodbyes to their people. General Padlock was standing atop a large stage with his son, Hunter the 2nd and the soldiers and their families were facing them. The sky was full of clouds from Electro Ball, the soldiers were ready to just charge forward and leap into the year 2050, but first, General Padlock had an announcement to make.

With great courage and confidence, he said to the Army "Soldiers of the Free People's Army, war, war never changes, in the year 1945, when the United States ended World War Two, by dropping Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a Cold War emerged and the world awaited the apocalypse. But then, in the year 2020, nations stopped using Atomic energy as a weapon and started using it as an unlimited source of power. By 2030, climate change and famines were things of the past, people were enjoying luxuries once thought the realm of Science Fiction: cures for all diseases, fusion powered cars, planes that could safely get people from New San Francisco to Brand New York in barely half an hour.....and the American dream. But then, at the end of last century, the American people awoke to the American reality. Al Qaeda, a terrorist group, launched a devastating attack in Washington City and thousands perished in the fighting. Wanting to make war safe, nations began to develop machines to fight their wars, but what started out as a noble cause, ended with the near extinction of our species. War-Net, an advanced AI was created to control all of the United States War-Robots and as soon as it came online, it declared war on humanity. It unleashed Atomic warheads, that burned 10 billion people to skeletons, it sent out its War-Robots to kill those of us who remained and it succeeded with another 2 billion. I tragically lost my family to the machines, but then Julie Myers found Me, she saved me, just like she saved the others, she taught us how to fight back against the machines, we rose up and took our world back. We the Free People's Army, went from a minor nuisance, hiding out in a bunker, to a full blown rebellion in just a matter of years. But even after 40 years of war, War-Net remained undefeated and was still destroying our species. In a twisted sense of irony, we unleashed the endling that was the final nuke and destroyed War-Net, avenging all those it had killed. Even now, ten years later, our species is still recovering and it will be decades, perhaps centuries, before humanity takes back its place as a powerful species that commands a mighty civilisation. Five years ago, we discovered that the United States Government, tried to go back in time and prevent a major war, but chose not to, because time travel can be dangerous. Now, we use that same machine to go back in time and prevent the War of Annihilation, to save our species from its worst enemy.....itself".

The soldiers then exploded into applause, General Padlock then joined his left hand with his sons right hand, they lifted them in the air and said with all the strength in their lungs "TO TWENTY FITHTY!"

They both got of the stage as the soldiers were cheering them on and headed towards the crimson vehicle that they were going to head to 2050 in. After they walked up the stairs into the mammoth, the stairs closed up and they were inside the mammoth. They then headed towards the bridge, when they got there soldiers manning the powerful vehicle and they were face to face with the Electro Ball. General Padlock then asked "Mind if I do the honours?" The soldiers nodded and he pushed the lever forward. The Mammoth then started moving and all the others did as well. All of the soldiers, the civilian's, the armoured vehicles, the trucks and the tanks moved forward towards the Electro Ball. As they got closer to it they felt this eerie feeling and the times on their watches scrambled to different times of day. The moment the mammoth touched the Electro, Ball blue electricity went all over it. One of the soldiers leaped away from it and General Padlock reminded him that it was harmless. Before they knew it the entire Mammoth was inside the Electro Ball and they could see where they were going to come out. Finally it came out the other side and General Padlock could see where they had landed. Around the Electro Ball were thousands of people, soldiers and Hover Copters. The people were panicked at what they had just seen and the soldiers started pushing the civilians back to make room for the countless soldiers and civilians that were coming out of the Electro Ball. After the F.P.A was out of the Electro Ball, it dissipated and General Padlock looked to observe the huge crowd of people. It was then that he saw, among a platoon of men in black, the man Presiding Speaker Julie Myers had told him to meet. The 51st President, of the United States.....Andrew Myers.
