It had been five years since the War of Annihilation came to an end, the Free People's Army had established the Free People's Republic and were rebuilding California. Across the world, survivor groups were rebuilding the earth and giving Human civilisation a second chance. General Hunter Spears Padlock had been called to the Californian mountains for an important meeting with Presiding Speaker Julie Myers, the same woman who took him in as a teenager. When she called him, She said that an important discovery had been made and He had to know about it. The armoured vehicle was headed up a tall mountain path, towards a cliff, overlooking the mountain, as they headed towards it, General Padlock thought to himself "Wonder what it was that was so important, that I had to come all the way out here?" The vehicle arrived at the cliff, the flat area was the size of a football field and there were soldiers all around it. General Padlock got out of the vehicle to see Presiding Speaker Myers, looking over California. He headed towards her and stood next to her. He too looked out at California and Presiding Speaker Myers said "My dad was a State Senator, we used to have picnics at that forest over there, before the war of course". General Padlock then proceeded to say "I heard that Raymond Myers died in a blaze of glory, destroying War-Corpses with an automatic heavy machine gun". Julie smiled and said "What you don't know, is that his last words were death to War-Net". General Padlock smirked and said "To be honest I would've said the same thing". General Padlock looked over at the view and saw New San Francisco in the distance. He wondered what the city would look like in one hundred years and what it would look like one hundred years after that. He turned to his left to face Presiding Speaker Myers and asked "What is here that is so important?" Julie faced him, not afraid to show her many battle scars, that to be honest did not go with her suit and said "A pre war government experiment was conducted here, we are hoping to use it to our advantage". Julie turned around to her behind and started walking towards a large boulder.
General Padlock walked with her and after 30 seconds, they were at the boulder. General Padlock thought the boulder looked out of place, as there were very few boulders on the mountain. Julie Myers stepped forward and pushed her finger into a hole in the boulder. General Padlock heard the sound of a button click and all of a sudden, a large door opened in the bunker itself! The door led down a massive staircase and the lights in the staircase erupted with light. "Come on" said Julie. Presiding Speaker Myers, General Padlock and 10 soldiers started walking down the stair case. It was very old and dusty. As they walked down, Presiding Speaker Myers said "We found out about this place from the Governors building, there was a file all about it". They finally arrived at a large door made of titanium, it had a DNA scanner above the keypad and was 8 feet tall. "The fragment please?" asked Presiding Speaker Myers. "Yes Madam Speaker" said a bodyguard. The bodyguard put his briefcase on the floor, opened it and took out a bone fragment inside. He placed the fragment at the DNA scanner, which scanned it and said in a robotic voice "Match, welcome, President Andrew Myers". The door then opened in a split second and Julie calmly said "Come on". General Padlock was now ever more curious and wondered what this was all about. They walked down the large hallway that was behind the door. General Padlock saw broken down computers and machinery, that had to be more than a century old. He was surprised to see such primitive technology that wasn't in a museum. All of this 'ancient' tech, were on desks and the floor. They had been here for many years. The offices they walked past had numbers on them and the names of whoever's office it was. One of the largest offices was owned by someone called "Victor Schmitt" and General Padlock had no clue who this was.
Finally they arrived at a large glass window and on the other side, was a large room, the size of a basketball pitch. General Padlock was tired of the secrecy and asked "What is it that's in this pre-war government facility that's so important?" Presiding Speaker Myers smiled and said "The thing that's going to undo War-Net from existence". She then pressed a button on the control panel and lights shone up in the room. In the centre of the room, was a circular platform and 3 satellite dishes that were the size of cars. There was a huge energy battery for each dish, with enough power to run a city and a another city. All of these things were destroyed and the shape they were in implied that an explosive device did it. That was when General Padlock saw two words on a metal plate, built into the wall of the strange room. These words were unbelievable, and they made General Padlock realise the nature of this project. Those words were, "Time-Machine".
