It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Sometimes our open eyes don’t see the reality of mystery. Perhaps this is also what had happened in the gospel when the region-men of Jesus questioned his identity about speaking words of wisdom and making thousands of miracles.

Perhaps, this is also the same as us. Many a times we are just confronted by the reality that our bare eyes see. But do we ask, “What’s beyond this?” Well, many of us are stuck in that “what we see is what we get” reality. I do believe when we are asked, “Will you expect me to participate in FIBA world cup?” Maybe all will say no.

Have we seen the bigger picture on why many crucial things occur in our world? On where does the life starts and abortion talks are so prevalent right now that many push it. It is because we are only looking on the superficial things like the immediate joy of freeing oneself to responsibility of having a child. However, on the other hand there’s much things that goes beyond looking to that reality of obligations. Maybe, that’s a mystery that is far-fetched from our eyes.

Remember, we don’t only have eyes but we also have ears to hear. More so the heart that could see what we can’t grasp and can hear the deafening silence of mystery. Maybe, this usually happens if we constantly depend on our opened eyes. Many a times we become so discriminatory that we forget that people too have the unexplored capacity which is sometimes they themselves are surprised discovering it.

We cannot accept that sometimes people whom we underestimate are now cuddling much prestige. I guess, it will always pin point to this anecdote in Filipino, “Minsan mas bulag pa ang nakakakita dahil hindi nila alam kung kelan sila di nakakakita (Sometimes, those who sees are more blind than the blind because they don’t know when they can’t see.)”

Furthermore, maybe Jesus invites us to keep on performing miracles (wonderful works) that would make him more welcome into our lives. Possibly, we can make this by closing our eyes from time to time so that we may not destroy mystery that makes us and so that Jesus may enter to our lives to renew us in a way that would make us truly happy.
