Well, we all know for a fact that to speak wrongly would definitely destroy one’s very being, for example, a reporter who doesn’t speak correctly will certainly be put to dump by tagging him or her as a person who can’t be trusted or a person who’s unworthy of talking. On the other hand, not to speak at all, would tag idiocy for the person or would probably cause him or her to vent the piled up emotions in a probable disturbing manner.
In my 536,112,000 seconds of existence, I have experienced a lot like to be discouraged by slips of the tongue in the pursuit of spontaneity and to hurt people with the words I use. Moreover, I also feel shattered when I don’t put to words the emotions I feel. With these experiences, I asked myself, What Am I to do next?
This question really triggered my head on how will I communicate people neither too strong nor too weak. However, I have realized that in order to be in the middle of the extremes, I should perfect first these three tools: logic, ethics and rhetoric which is obviously impossible to achieve. With this reality, would it mean that I will not try at all?
Despite the impossibility, I will still pursue toachieve the three tools because as St. Thomas Aquinas in his philosophy, “Nature builds itself.” In this particular sense, we can also draw out that the essence of human’s nature as a social being is something to be worked upon. Even though the tendency of perfecting the three tools would mean a sham, it does not follow the norm that we will not do our best to connect with other people. For us who are not yet convinced, there will always be a consolation because first of all we are not an absolute creature so therefore, we can’t achieve the knowledge absolutely. Nonetheless we are able to desire and reach the knowledge and skills within our own limitations.
On the first question, we can draw out that the two sides of the coin are of the same weight and value. Additionally, I can say that as social beings, we should communicate and give our very efforts to the rest of the beings. I guess the truest sense of communication is the all about doing the best that we can to listen, to read, to write, to speak and most especially to connect with people.
Now, my life would be in content because I am in the effort of giving my entire self for the sake of communication. However, the challenge for us would be, can we consistently communicate to the fullest?
