Today is the commemoration of the heart that had never settled for less for it had endured everything for the sake of love. I would like to share the story of a couple who made their relationship like a blitz. The story goes like this:

One Friday evening when the crescent moon illuminated so bright, a disco party was also held and it was joined by many people, the rich, the middle class, and the poor. As the said event rolled out, a man named xen dropped his jaw when he recognized the immortality of a porcelain-skinned woman amidst the myriads of unique magnificence.

As the pulsating beating of the soul went through, the boy walked with burning heart toward the girl but as his being came closer to the girl, the tick of the clock couldn’t resist to slow motion because of the attraction that can be felt in the air.

After the time elapsed, the boy out of his tension said to the girl, “nice meeting you, how will I communicate with you?” On her serenading voice she replied “Do you want my mobile number?” Then at that point, the boy’s mouth couldn’t utter a single word nor display a gesture but his fervid eyes replied to the girl with such immense YES! Then the girl gave her number to the stranger. Then the stranger asked further, “Do I have the chance to make you fall in love?” Then the lovely girl replied, “You have no chance of making me fall in love, because I have loved you since you came to this party Xen.” Then the story ended with a mystery remained in the ventricles of Xen.

In the story, paradise is implied and the characters are imaginary. We might have different interpretations on what a paradise is, it may be a grandiose palace, a place of calmness or maybe a feeling which may come from our simple affirmations.

In our gospel for today, we can say that the man beside the cross did his entire effort to surprise the Lord to remember him in the reign of God. However, it is not the man who had surprised Christ but the Christ who surprised him by showing the assurance, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

Now, if we want to assure others with the paradise, we have to share this boldly among ourselves, “You and I are special to Jesus Christ.” Amen.
