♥ Nate ♥

For as long as I can remember, I've never been truly happy. I was forced into this lifestyle from a young age. Taught to fight before I could even learn to read. My father is always tough on me. But I wouldn't expect any less from the leader of the mafia. I'm the oldest in the family which makes me the right hand man and the next in line to take over. My mother just wants what's best for me. And my younger brother just lives as if everyday is his last. I guess we all do that. In this world, our world of crime, you never know when your time will run out.

I've been set in my ways for a while now. Not caring much, just getting the job done. I felt numb to everything I ever did, every crime I committed, none of it mattered. Nothing made me feel good, nothing made me feel like my own person. Until my eyes landed on Zara Wilson.

I've never seen anyone like her before. She effortlessly holds such bravery, power, and beauty. Whenever I see her or think about her, the world around me fades. Nothing else matters except for her.

I met her at my club one night but the night didn't begin as good as it ended. I had to take care of some business. This guy came into the club demanding to meet with me. Normally I would just throw them out but his name was familiar to me, Bradley Richards. I think I've read about him in the paper and I've heard about him on my side of the streets. The word is that he owes a lot of money.

The kid thought he could make it big with the drug world. He's got a little gang but he's been interfering with my business so soon enough I'll have to take care of him.

I sat at my desk with my feet up and my hands in my lap, waiting for this wannabe to show up. Bradley knocked on my door before entering and invited himself to take a seat in front of me. This kid already has no respect. He sat with his shoulders held high containing so much confidence. I just sat looking directly in his eyes waiting for him to crack. He shifted uncomfortably and began "so I would like to make a deal with you." Bradley stated like he had so much to offer me, when in reality he has nothing.

"Go on," I said, feeling bored.

"I would like to buy product from you and," he began but I cut in. "And sell it on my streets?" I asked plainly. What is this kid's deal? He has no idea what he is doing.

"I'll sell it where I want to sell it." He said but that was definitely the wrong answer.

"Listen kid," I began to say as I put my feet down and leaned closer "I have no interest in doing business with you. Let me give you some advice, stick to your business and don't fuck with mine." I said in an angry tone.

He just stared back with a wicked smile and started to laugh evilly. "Too late," was all he said as he got up and left. Well I thought that would have gone better. I guess I'll need to get someone to take care of him.

I attended to other matters when Roman, my good friend and best worker, came in. "Boss, we have a problem," he said. "What is it?" I asked annoyed. "We had a shipment coming in from the docks about 20 minutes ago and it was stolen." It took me a minute to think. No one who I know from New York would dare mess with me. Except one person, who proved they would just an hour ago. "Bradley fucking Richards," I said my thoughts out loud. Then Roman continued "most of our men were killed." I looked at Roman with hooded eyes, and furrowed brows then said "find that bastard." Bradley just made this personal and he's not gonna like the way this ends.

After that I went to the bar. I needed to blow off some steam. I had a drink at the bar and smoked a cigarette. I was in my own world just watching time go by but time stopped when my eyes landed on her. She was breathtakingly gorgeous wearing a satin dress that hugged every single one of her curves. She had dark brown hair almost black that went down to her back. As she leaned over the counter, the dress rose up and I got a better view of her ass. Damn, it was perfect. She was dripping in diamonds like a true goddess. I was in a trance when she looked over and me with those deep green eyes and gave me a hot smirk. I laughed under my breath thinking about how lucky I was to just catch a glimpse of her.

I wasn't in a chatty mood but the more I talked to her the harder I fell. She definitely didn't know who I was, if she had she would have stayed away. I'm glad she doesn't know, and I wouldn't tell her, at least not yet. Her grabbing my cigarette was the hottest thing I've ever seen. I had to contain myself from taking her home right then and there. She knew what she was doing to me.

The night just got better as I got to know more about her. This girl was full of surprises. First the cigarette then the racing. I knew then that she was the girl for me, without a doubt.

I've never met anyone who has had me so intrigued. She was just perfect, absolutely perfect.

When she told me her name, I knew we would meet again. I've had that appointment with her at the store for weeks. I just wanted to leave that as a surprise for her. Only now, I couldn't tell her the real reason behind the appointment. Soon the real reason won't be a reason anymore. But isn't it funny how fate works.

I've been with many girls. Most of them were not serious at all, just pleasure. But even with that in mind, I've never shared a kiss with anyone the way I shared it with Zara. It was so enchanting and sensual. She's the best kisser I've ever tasted. I just couldn't get enough, I gave her a few love bites just because I couldn't contain myself. Her little moans made me hard, I was gonna need a cold shower later. I could have kissed her all night if I didn't get interrupted.

The call was from Roman. He said that Bradley would be at the track. So I unfortunately had to go. But when I got there, the little wuss didn't show. Waste of my time.

I needed a chance to see her again after our encounter at the jewelry store. I invited her to race me, I needed to see her skills. I loved how competitive she seemed. Did she really race, I questioned it. But yes she did, without a doubt. I loved to see her race her car. It was the sexiest thing. And watching her drive my Porsche was even better.

But while we were at the track, I saw Ian talking to her. Ian is an old friend of mine but I never liked him. He's always been jealous of what I have. And he was definitely jealous of me and Zara. I had to make it clear that she was mine. I wouldn't let anyone else go near her.

I texted her after she left my house later in the night, I got her number from her office. I was surprised when she said she needed a favour. I was really concerned so I rushed over to her house. I was shocked at what I saw, there was blood and glass everywhere and she looked slightly pale. At this moment, I would have done anything for her. But it seemed like there was something she wouldn't tell me, I knew something was off. Which made me explore the possibilities in my mind. The first thought was that someone did this to her and I was pissed.

I need to be here for her because she is the only thing that gets me through the day. Zara is like a big puzzle and I'm not going anywhere until I put all the pieces together.
