37 . wrestling

Adam and Alice sat together on the couch in Alice and Jonny's apartment, her legs were on his lap so she could stretch out and they both had cups of tea in had. The chase was playing on the television and they were both shouting out the answers loudly, each trying to prove that they were smarter than the other. Her eyes kept moving to him suspiciously, holding back what she wanted to say. 

He looked at her weirdly. "Alice, why do you keep looking at me like that?" 

"Okay." She jumped up quickly. "What do you know about this secret birthday present Jonny keeps talking about?" 

"I can't say." Adam shook his head. 

"Please!" She begged. "He keeps mentioning it and I can't handle the suspense. Plus, I hate surprises!" 

"No." He smirked with a shake of his head. 

"You'll regret it." She warned with a raised brow, Adam chortled and that was when Alice decided to strike. 

The woman moved forwards quickly, snatching the boys phone from his lap and running to the other side of the room, unlocking it quickly. Adam surged forwards too but she was slightly quicker than him as she had always been. "Maybe I'll text Tanya Green, or Emma!" 

"Alice! Fuck off." He yelled trying to grab the girls arm but she quickly turned away from him, her back to him. 

Knowing she was about to be trapped, Alice jumped as far as she could, landing on the armchair and just about stopping herself from falling over. She grabbed the pillow throwing it at the boy as harshly as she could. Both of them had began laughing loudly now although Adam was trying to hide it. 

"Oh I see you still have Emma's sisters number then." She commented loudly. 

"You're a bitch." 

"But I'm faster and smarter than you." She giggled, moving quickly out of the room and into the hallway. 

Adam grabbed her leg, pulling her down. She kicked out as she fell, hitting him in the stomach making the boy groan and fall too. They landed awkwardly, Adam half on top of her and crushing her legs under his weight. They let out a mix of a laugh and a pained cry as they stopped, getting their breath back and shaking their heads. 

"Just tell me." She pleaded again, holding his phone behind her head. "Or I will put this down my bra and you can never have it back." 

"He's booked a holiday for the two you." Adam admitted with heavy breaths. 

Alice's eyes widened, a squeal leaving her mouth. "Really? Oh my God." 

"What are you two doing?" The sound of Jonny's voice brought the two of them out of their laughing trance and they looked up at him. Jonny just looked confused, not expecting them to be doing some sort of fight on the floor when he got home from work but always expecting something strange. He shook his head. "Weirdos." 

"Alice took my phone." Adam scowled, finally grabbing it back off the girl. 

"Jonny." Alice cooed happily, feeling happiness overtake her as she looked at the boy who she was very much in love with. She got up to her feet quickly, throwing herself at her boyfriend. Jonny smiled as her arms went around his neck and her legs wrapped around his waist. 

"What's this about, lovely?" He asked quietly. 

She grinned widely. "You're taking me on holiday?" 

"Pussface!" Jonny yelled at his brother with a scowl. "You told her."

"She forced me." He insisted, with wide eyes. "I think I'll be off now. See you Friday." 

They muttered goodbyes quickly, Jonny would have tried to hit his brother if his girlfriend wasn't wrapped around his body and holding him in place. Jonny could not believe the secret had come out, he was very glad now he had not told Adam his whole plan for the holiday. 

"Why did you make him tell you?" Jonny asked with annoyance as he walked into the bedroom, his hands were on Alice's bum to keep her steady and her legs got tighter around him as he walked. "Babe, I wanted it to be a surprise."

"I just had to know." She said with an innocent smile, her eyes glowing. "And that is a gorgeous surprise! Where are you taking me?" 

"No." He said firmly, in a voice that made Alice take a deep breath, her stomach tightening. He placed her on their bed and took off his blazer and tie quickly. "No more asking questions, please."

"Okay." She nodded, taking a hold of his hand. "But you should know that I'm really excited and grateful for you planning that, wherever it is that we're going." 

Jonny grinned widely as he looked down as his beautiful girl. His plans for the future were whirling around in his mind every time he looked at her now and he could not wait, every fear he ever had seemed to eradicate more as he fell deeper in love with the woman. "I'd do anything that makes you happy." 

"Jonny." She purred, pulling him forwards so their lips could meet. As they kissed he moved closer to her, on top of her body but holding himself up so his weight was not on her. She began unbuttoning his shirt as he moved to her neck, that smelt like honey as she always did. 

Alice's phone suddenly beeped loudly, she would have loved to ignored it but the noise continued. Groaning, she grabbed the device, her eyes widening as she read the string of text messages she had just received. 

"Oh my god." She reeled in shock. 

Jonny's eyes widened. "Alice, what is it?" 

"Lucy's left Ben, she's cancelling the wedding." She informed her boyfriend, both of them not quite sure what to say. Alice shook her head. "She seemed so weird the other day but I thought she was just nervous." 

"He's gonna be so upset." Jonny panicked, jumping off the bed and taking his phone from his blazer pocket. It started ringing just as he grabbed a hold of it. "It's him!"

"Answer it." Alice urged, her fingers moving rapidly to text back Lucy. "Shit, shit, shit."

"Ben, hey....I'm so sorry mate, I can't believe it." Jonny spoke sadly to his friend, running a hand through his hair and messing it up considerably. "Just try and calm down, yeah. Do you want me to come over? Okay but you don't want to be alone for too long, how about you come to Friday night dinner with my family this week?" 

After a few minutes Jonny got off the phone and walked over to his girlfriend, he brought her into his arms tightly. "Shit, I really thought they were going to be happy." 

"I know, me too." She nodded, hugging him tighter. "Jonny, I love you." 

"I love you too, Alice. So much."
