"Here we go." Lucy said lightly with a lovely smile on her face. "Extra large gin and tonic."
She handed the drink to Jackie who sat on her bed with red eyes. Alice sat next to her, a head on the shoulder of her second mother whilst the boys stood watching.
"Thank you my darling."
"Sorry again, love." Martin said but Jackie turned her head away from him.
"Did you say something Martin?"
"So, what are we having for dinner then?" Jonny asked.
"I could make something." The shunned man offered but everybody groaned.
"We've all eaten enough of your glass for one day." Jackie seethed. "Including your pregnant daughter in law and Adam's lovely girlfriend!"
"We could just have crumble."
"We cant just eat crumble."
"Everybody loves crumble!"
"I could eat crumble out of a bloody cement mixer!" Lucy agreed.
"Make that two." Alice joined.
"With two bloody spades." Jackie smiled wider than she had all evening as she looked at Lucy. "You are a lovely girl."
Alice grinned as she watched Jonny fist bump his brother with pride. Adam's eyes then fell to her and he raised his fist once again, Alice copied his actions and they both fist bumped the air between them.
"Right then, crumble for dinner!" The matriarch confirmed, getting off the bed and gesturing the new redhead to follow her. "Lovely Lucy, come help me so we can talk a bit more."
"Is there any glass in the crumble?" Adam turned to his father semi-seriously as the two girls left the room.
"Piss off!" Martin exclaimed, leaving also.
The brothers turned to Alice as she sighed whilst laying on the bed. "Boys!" She demanded help, extending both of her arms outwards. Both chuckled and took an arm each, helping the girl raise herself from the comfy mattress and stand once again.
"It's going well." Adam grinned at the two of them, his best friends.
"Jackie loves her, I can tell." The girl exclaimed.
"But not as much as Alice, obviously." Jonny smirked. "We will always be superior."
"Shutup."
"My little Ad is a man now!" Alice squealed, wrapping her arms around her best friend and hugging him as tightly as possible in her current size predicament.
"With a real life girlfriend!" Jonny mimicked her squeal and wrapped his arms around the both of them too.
All three giggled, before Alice's stomach rumbled and her face turned serious.
