Alice walked onto the familiar drive with a skip in her step, pausing when she saw Jim standing in front of the flower bed and Wilson sitting in it. "Hiya Jim, what are you doing there?"
"Hello Ally, I'm not doing anything Wilson is dolloping." He explained with a shake of his head.
"Lovely and it's Alice, Jim."
"Alice." He repeated with a nod. The two both stood their awkwardly for a few seconds before Alice smiled widely and stepped away.
"Nice speaking to you Jim, I'm going to go inside now."
"Bye Ally." He nodded, turning to Wilson. "Oh, can you please bring me some bags for the dollops."
Alice nodded chuckling to herself as she rang the doorbell. It was not long before the door was opened by Jonny and Adam. "Wilson needs some bags." She stepped through the door into Jonny's arms, he kissed her head with a smile.
"Hello, I was wondering where you had gotten too."
"My boss would not stop talking tonight." She laughed, shaking her head.
"Sorry Jim, is Wilson alright?" Jackie asked.
"Actually Jackie, I'm not sure that he is." Wilson stepped into the house whispering. "Going to the loo."
"Really?" Adam asked sarcastically.
"Which is strange because he hasn't been eating. Yesterday he didn't even want to watch his favourite television programme." Jim informed them all.
"What is his favourite tv show?" Alice asked curiously. "Clifford the big red dog or something?"
Jonny chuckled but Jim shook his head. "University challenge, he's very good."
"Maybe you should take him to the vets."
"Have him put down." Martin suggested earning a glare from his wife.
"No Jackie, Wilson never lets me take him to the vets." Jim insisted, taking the bags and going back outside.
The five in the house began eating their dinner, after Jackie had set it all out and they had taken their usual seats. Adam had informed Alice about the call he was expecting telling him about the job he wanted and Jonny's mean prank on him just before she got there. Martin also took his chance to fill her in on his medical condition.
"I've never heard of bursitis, Martin." She shrugged from her seat next to him.
"How have you never heard of bursitis, you're all burks." He shook his head with a scoff, as Jackie began putting food onto his place. "He must not be well that creature."
Alice pouted. "Poor little doggy."
"Poor Wilson." Jackie agreed.
"He must have dumped half his body weight on our driveway. Might be a tapework and you really don't want one of those buggers."
