The couple walked through the house with their arms linked together and an excited air hanging around them. Alice was glad her new fiancé was an estate agent because it meant that she could walk around freely, inspecting the house as he was in charge of the sales rather than somebody else who was hanging around them. So, she had opened every drawer and checked every corner to make sure there was nothing wrong that had been hidden from them.

It was a nicely sized house, perfect for the two of them with room to grow. It was open plan with the perfect amount of cosiness.

"A cute little pink couch would be perfect there." She pointed out excitedly.

Jonny disagreed immediately. "Absolutely not. We are not getting a pink couch."

"It would be so cute though."

"No! Grey or black leather." He suggested.

Alice snarled him. "It's not a shag pad Jonny, no black leather couch."

"Well." He began chortling to himself, strolling over to her and placing his cold hands on her hips, the tips of his fingers touched the skin exposed by her crop t-shirt, making her shiver. "It is our shag pad."

She smirked, kissing the side of his face chastely. "Not if you keep making comments like that, honey."

Jonny pulled her closer, looking at her seriously. "But what do you really think. I know we've only looked at two places but when I saw the listing for this I just had this feeling."

"I love it." She interrupted loudly. "I think we should figure out our money when we go home and decide on an offer."

"Woohoo!" He exclaimed, laughing as he picked the girl up bridal style and spun her around. "Maybe I'll be carrying you through the door like this soon then."

Alice kissed Jonny hard, trying to convey all of her love and excitement in that kiss, before she started giggling wildly. "Put me down, you'll jinx it!"

"We're in love, you can't jinx love."

"Have you been taking something and not telling me?" She asked in amusement.

"High on life, babe." He laughed, happy silliness had taken over his body. He put her down and grabbed her face lightly. "Because I've secured the best lady on the planet, do you know what that is?"

"No, what is it?" She asked as laughter fell from her mouth.

"Skill mcgill!"

"Here she is!" Jackie squealed as she ran towards the smiling ginger woman who looked tanned and glowier than usual. "My daughter in law! Let me see it!"

"Hi Jackie." Alice hugged her tightly before pulling away and putting her hand up in the air. "It's gorgeous."

"Ooo it is!" Excitement and happiness was radiating off the woman. She looked at her son with slightly narrowed eyes. "I can't believe you didn't tell me you were planning on proposing, Jonnyboo."

"You can't keep a secret to save your life." Jonny told his mother with a shrug.

She gasped. "I can keep a secret."

"Well it doesn't matter now anyway, I've done it."

"Lovely way to talk about your proposal." Jackie scoffed shaking her head.

"Congratulations." Martin walked into the hallway and hugged Alice happily before turning to Jonny and reaching his hand out to shake, Jonny looked at his mother weirdly but shook his fathers hand anyway. "Jonny, congratulations on securing a female."

"Urgh, Martin. Surely you know me well enough to not call me a female." Alice scoffed.

"But you are a female."

"Yeah but, just, don't call me that." She spluttered. "It's kind of demeaning."

"Oh, whatever." Martin shook his head not fully understanding, Alice laughed at the mans demeaner.

Jackie squealed again and took Alice's hand. "Have you started thinking about any of the details."

"Yes." The girl nodded, sharing a smile with Jonny. "We've decided that we don't really want to wait that long to get married."

Jonny nodded, putting his arm around her. "And we want it to be small."

"How long are you thinking about?"

"Like two months." Jonny grinned. "We're going to look at a little venue next week."

"Oh my god!" Jackie said loudly. "Two months! I need to find something to wear."

Alice giggled. "It's just going to be really small, don't panic Jackie. Oh and Martin we got your, rock."

Jackie rolled her eyes as Martin looked up excitedly, Jonny looked at his father with confusion. "Why did you want a bloody rock?"

"I'm trying to get a rock from every country in the world." He explained.

"Why?"

"Because it's interesting and I can examine them all to see the differences."

"The microscope is coming back out." Alice laughed as she took the rock from her bag and handed it to the man.

"He's being stupid, he doesn't have any other rocks." His wife shook her head.

"I do! I took some from Lochness years ago."

"As fun as this is, I need to go and meet Adam." Alice announced, kissing Jonny's cheek and hugging Jackie again. "I'll see you both on Friday. Jonny I'll text you when I'm on the way home."

"Okay, bye lovely."

Alice quickly ran to her car as the cold weather hit her, they had left it at the Goodman's when they went away so that there would only be one in their flat complex. Her favourite song blasted through the speaker and she sung loudly as she drove the short way to the burger place where she was meeting her best mate.

When she arrived at the neon lit place, she parked quickly, desperate to see her friend. This was the longest they had went without seeing each other in ages! He was waiting outside with a cool black jacket and hat on and he smiled at the sight of her.

"Ad!" She said happily, running towards him quickly.

"Alice." He wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly and picking her up off the ground only slightly. She was his favourite person and had been for years and he was absolutely buzzing about her and Jonny's news. "I am so glad you're actually going to be my sister, legally and properly!"

"I know. I am so happy." She basically sung. "There were times when I thought me and Jonny really weren't going to make it and now, we're getting married."

"He's really changed for you, you know. He's grown up so much."

She hugged him tightly for a few more seconds. "Thank you for always being the best friend I could ever have, Adam."

"I am great aren't I." They both laughed for a little bit. "I love you, Al. I cannot believe you fell for stupid pissface but I'm glad you have."

"Love you too, horrible." She chortled. "Me and Jonny are already fighting about who gets you for their side of the wedding."

"Oh, am I that popular?" He smirked.

"You may have to be like a, best man of honour or something."

"A mutant wedding mix." He agreed in amusement. "Let's go and get a burger."
