When I wake up the next morning, I feel out of this world. I'm so groggy and exhausted that I can barely move to turn off my alarm. The alarm that's suppose to remind me that Jake needs picked up. After snoozing the alarm four times, I eventually roll out of my comforting bed. I drag my feet to the bathroom and flip on the light. I almost scream when I see myself, "Woah!" I say and touch the eyeliner that's smeared on my cheeks. My 'straightened' hair looked like a few animals could live in it comfortably.

I quickly hop in the shower and scrub the smell of party off my body. When I get out I feel like a new woman. I throw on a sweatshirt and boyfriend jeans. I brush my wet hair and walk down stairs, when I walk passed the couch I smiled thinking of the long conversation Luke and I had. He was so sweet to me and nothing like the bad boy him that I met my first day.

I run out to my car and start it, the window that was once painted with the word SLUT was crystal clear, cleaner than it's ever been before! (Thanks Luke)

I blast my music loud and sing at the top of my lungs until I arrive to pick Jake up.

I hop out of the car and knock on the door, "Oh hi! Jake is on his way!" Matt's mom says and smiles, looking me up and down, it made me uncomfortable, like she was judging me or something. Finally I see Jake round the corner with all of his stuff shoved in his unzipped soccer bag.

I grab his pillow from him and say, "Are ya ready?"

He shrugs and sighs, "I guess, see ya Matt!" He shouts over his shoulder and Matt's mom shuts the door.

"So did you have fun?" I break the silence as I drive down the road, Jake messing with the radio.

He looks at me, "Yeah I did! It was really fun. You wanna know something funny?"

I furrow my brows, "Sure? What is it?"

Jake turns towards me and says, "Matt's older brother is in high school and he says that he knows you!" My eyes got big, did Luke have a younger brother? Oh no, I hope he isn't Austin's brother somehow.

All these thoughts sprint through my mind before I say, " Oh yeah? What's his brother's name?"

Jake sits and thinks for a second while I tap the steering wheel, "Shane! His name is Shane!"

I smile big, "Aww really? Shane is great." Jake giggles, I glance at him, "What?!"

Jake clears his throat, "Do you like Shane or something like that?"

I almost choked on my gum, "What? Are you kidding me?! Heck no! He's just a good friend."

Jake nods, "Mmk."

Around lunch time while Jake and I are watching The Avengers, my cell phone rings. "No no! Don't pause it!" Jake yells as he stuffs more sandwich in his mouth.

I roll my eyes and see it's mom calling, "Hello?" I say and walk to the kitchen so Jake can hear the movie.

"Hi honey! I will be home in about 20 minutes." She says, I can hear the chirpiness in her voice.

I swallow, "Great! Be careful, love you!" We hang up and I go back to the couch, Jake is entranced by the movie. "Jake! We've seen this a hundred times!"

His hand flies up, "SHHH!" Spit flies from his mouth.

"Ew." I mumble. My phone goes off twice, this time just text messages.

Luke: 'Hey!! I had a lot of fun last night:)'

Luke: 'But I was just thinkin, I need help studying for the history test, can I drop by tomorrow afternoon?'

This time, my mom would be home and I just thought of how she would react to him... His lip ring, his blonde quiff, his tight skinny jeans, his accent, wow, just his everything. I start typing then deleting. He texts me

Luke: '.........'

Me: 'Sorry, haha! Yeah I will let you know! I hope so.'

I didn't want him to think I was some child, that I still needed to ask my mommy's permission to do stuff so I would just text him simply 'yes' or 'no' later, after I begged my mom.

About 20ish minutes later, mom walks in the door and kicks her shoes off. "Yeesh! I'm exhausted!" She sighs and looks at Jake and I. "So how was everything while I was gone?"

She directed the question at me and I bit my lip, "Fine! It was a little boring here alone though, when Jake was gone."

I can't believe I just lied so easily! I'm good at it. "Oh, well at least I can trust you, some parents can't even do that!"

I felt guilty on the inside, "Yeah I know, it's sad." But I lied again, on the outside. She told us about her small trip and Jake told her about Matt's house.

At dinner I decided to finally bring up the tutoring Luke deal. I set my fork down, "Mom, ok don't jump to any conclusions." Her eyebrows went up and I nervously continued, "There is this boy at school, his name is Luke. And my history teacher kinda forced me to tutor him. And well, we have this test on Monday and Luke needs help, a lot of it," I break to laugh, "And I was wondering if he could come over tomorrow afternoon so I could just help him study?" Mom cleared her throat, and I bit my nails once again.

"Well that's perfectly fine! I will just like to meet him. You're just tutoring him right? There's nothing else going on?"

She tapped her finger and I forced a small airy laugh, "Yeah mom, he is just a friend, if even that." I drank and drank more water, lies, lies, LIES. Was all I kept hearing in my head.

"Yeah, Ok!" Wow that was a lot easier than I thought.

After dinner I immediately texted Luke

Me: 'Hey there, sorry I forgot to text you back, you can come over tomorrow!'

Luke: 'Aw great! I will see you then, Chris. ;)'

Me: 'Yep, don't forget your books, haha! And yeah, don't call me that.'

And with that, Luke was coming over tomorrow, I want everything to go well with my mom, she will kill me if she ever found out that I had feelings for him. Not saying I do!! Because I don't, but things change.
