"I'm tired, hungry, and cold." Luke complained and put his jacket back on.
"Um that's not one of the choices." I pointed at the blue history paper in front of him.
He scrunched his nose, "Huh?"
"The choices are Hoover, Roosevelt, or Truman." I put my finger on the multiple choice answer. Luke leaned back in his chair and groaned. Loud enough for the librarian to look over at us. She continued staring, like we were doing something inappropriate.
"But I don't care." Luke stated and put his elbow on the table. "We've been here an hour. Let's call it quits." He begged. I glanced over a few tables away, Ashton was hiding behind a book and making Ashlee giggle. I rolled my eyes and put my focus back on a pouting Luke. "Please."
I shoved my pencil back in my bag, "Fine. Let's go." Gathering my things Luke chuckled. "What?"
"Oh nothing... I just haven't seen Ashton flirt like this since, uh a long time." He diverted his eyes away from mine.
"Since what?" I pried.
"Are we leaving?" Ashlee asked as she and Ashton made their way over to us. I still kept my eyes on Luke. What was he thinking right now?
"Yeah, Luke was whining, he needs to go home." I laughed. The four of us walked out of the library, Ashton and Ashlee were chatting still while Luke and I were quiet.
By the time we got to our cars, I was sick of hearing Ashton giggle at everything Ashlee said. Enough is enough. "Thanks for coming along so Ashlee wouldn't be lonely."
Ashton shifted his back pack, "Oh yeah! Maybe the four of us should hang out again this week?" He was too happy.
Ashlee grinned and shook her head. "That sounds like a plan!"
Ashton got in his car and Ashlee got in mine waiting for me. "I hope you feel more confident with the material." I told Luke.
"I do." He most likely lied, "Thanks again. I'll text you?"
I shoved my hair behind my ear, "Alright."
Before I got in my car Luke insisted, "And you'll text back?" He bit his lip.
"Only if I feel like it." I threw him the bait with that sentence. I shut my door and started the car, seeing Luke smirk and shake his head slowly.
While pulling out of the parking lot Ashlee broke our silence, "Well I have something to say." Her smile was still printed on her face since she met Ashton.
I turned down the radio, "Let me guess, you thought Ashton was totally adorable and you loved talking with him. You love his curly hair and his giggle?" I questioned and she started laughing, "Oh and you also think his hands are to die for?"
She snorted, "You know me too well!! He was so fun and so not awkward." I glanced at her blushing cheeks.
"You mean like Luke and I? We are awkward."
She shifted, "Yeah, you don't show him that you have a crush on him. What's up with that?"
I got annoyed, "Well, that's what he wants me to do. I can't get involved with a boy that has a girlfriend."
Ashlee sniffed, "Not for long."
I almost slammed on my breaks, "What?"
"Ok ok. Ashton told me that Luke couldn't stand Chelsea much longer. He predicts a break up within the week."
I couldn't believe this. Luke is so back and forth, why? "Interesting. Should I feel bad if I am happy?"
"No way!! I'd be thanking the Lord! Especially since Luke definitely has the booty."
"Ashlee!" I laughed.
"Just sayin. The truth is the truth girl and you know it."

Luke's POV
4 missed calls
5 text messages
All from Chelsea. I'm going to do it, I have to. I called her and my hand shook, I nervously bit my lip ring. I leaned over and turned my radio down.
"Luke!" Chelsea screamed in the phone. "I have called and texted you a hundred times. What if I was in an emergency and needed my boyfriend's comfort? But no, he was too busy getting tutored. More like getting it on with another girl."She said and I listened to her lecture, one I have memorized, I hear it too often. Well this is the last time I will go through this, I promise.
"I'm coming over to your house right now." I said plainly and hung up the phone.
When I pulled in her driveway, I took a confident deep breath and walked to the door. She flung it open, "What is it now?" She fumed. Her unnatural wavy hair was hanging down in tangles.
I forced my way in her house and shut the door, "Chelsea, I'm done."
She dropped her jaw in awe, "I'm, sorry what was that?" She cocked her head.
"I can't take this relationship. I've had enough of this roller coaster ride, I get nothing good out of this relationship and neither do you."
She didn't cry like I expected, her face turned red, and anger grew on her face, "Who the hell do you think you are. You're an idiot. I have never had someone talk to me that way!" She screamed and pointed at my face.
I couldn't believe this, "Alright, I'm done." I threw my hands up and walked to the door.
"No you don't leave when I'm talking!"
I whipped around and raised my voice, "Chelsea. Can you get a clue? I'm done with you! We are done, this relationship or whatever you decide to call it is dead. Don't bother texting me or calling me or seducing me back to you. Because you're just not worth it." I ended firmly and slammed the door.
I breathed in the cool air, I've escaped, it's over. I smile and get in my car, the deed is done.
