Wes’ POV:

“You’re allowed to leave now Mr Stromberg, but I would advise that you take it easy for the next couple of weeks since you did have quite a nasty knock to the head! If anything starts to feel odd then you must call the hospital immediately!” the nurse instructed kindly.

I honestly didn’t care what she was saying though, all I wanted to do was get the hell out of this damn hospital! I hated the morbid feeling to everything and even though the nurses and doctors had constant smiles painted on their faces to reassure the patients it honestly had the opposite effect on me! I just found it plain creepy.

“Thank you for everything!” Gabby said kindly to the nurse. The nurse walked out leaving us alone to pack up the little things that I had. Once we were done I swiftly grabbed her hand. She looked at me in confusion but I didn’t give her the chance to piece things together before I started running down the corridor, dragging her along with me.

“I’M FREEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed in the most childish, high-pitched voice I could muster up. I meant it in more ways than just one. I was free from Kaylee and I was free from this hospital.

“The nurse said to take it easy!! Not run down the corridor and scream, you fool!” she hissed and pulled me to a stop.

“What about skateboarding?”

“Nope”

“Surfing?”

“Nope”

“Aw, you’re no fun…” I pouted. She rolled her eyes pretending as if she wasn’t going to cave in seconds. “Then my life is officially over…” I groaned.

“What about music? Sing me that song you wrote…pleaaaasssseeee?” she begged.

“Fuck no!” I exclaimed. There was no way in hell I was going to sing that song to her.

“Aww come on! What else are you going to do?”

“Anything but that…and anyway…I thought you said it was creepy…” I huffed as we walked out of the hospital. I took a deep breath of fresh air as a grin broke out across my face. It was beautiful. I never thought I would appreciate air until this day, after being stuck in a place with completely recycled air well…this was just pure bliss.

“It WAS creepy…but I’ve gotten over that. I mean, pshhh. Everybody loves me, how could they not?!” she joked and poked me in the ribs softly. Now THIS I could handle, being teased about being in love with her was way better than things being completely awkward and never bringing up the subject again.

“You should get an award for being the most lovable girl in the world…or maybe the most self-absorbed” I teased.

“Bro! I won that last year, get with the times!”

“Who says bro anymore?”

“Me. Do you have a problem with that?” I was about to reply when a guy across the street spotted us and started yelling things I couldn’t hear. Gabby heard loud and clear though. Her face paling in a matter of seconds, she grabbed my arm and started to pull me down the street hurriedly with her head down.

“Gabby what’s going on?” I asked nervously. We finally came to a stop at my house once she had ushered me inside. I started to get annoyed when she stood by the window watching to see if he had gone, she still hadn’t told me yet and it was starting to bother me. “For godsake, will you tell me what is going on?!”

“Just an idiot who thinks he’s funny…” she mumbled distractedly. I gave her a warning look before she finally started to explain fully. “You know that video they filmed while I was drunk?” I nodded, and she continued “Yeah, well apparently it hasn’t just spread throughout OUR school…it’s spread amongst schools in our area…and that guy was just being a dick about it” she sighed.
