Gabby’s POV:

“Can I have a bite of that?” Drew asked, eyeing my ice cream hungrily. I rolled my eyes, knowing that he would ask this sooner or later.

“Go ahead” I grumbled, shoving the ice cream into his hands. He grinned giddily and bit down into the deliciously freezing ice cream, I could hear the chocolate crunching against his teeth as he took the most enormous bite I had ever seen in my life. “I THOUGHT YOU SAID A BITE! NOT SHOVE AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN INTO YOUR MOUTH!!” I shrieked, slapping him on the arm as he wiped the dribbling mess off of his chin. He was about to hand it back when I stopped him. “You may as well eat it now…you’ve officially put me off ice cream for life!” I muttered. He grinned triumphantly and happily demolished the rest of the ice cream.

“Poor ice cream, what did it ever do to you?” Mary chuckled, wrinkling her nose as Drew wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. The guy was an absolute pig when it came to eating, but I mean…aren’t all guys?

“Hey! Don’t mock my eating” he exclaimed, holding his hands up in defence.

“I’ll mock it all I want!” she teased and snatched his snapback off of his head, placing it on her own.

“Hey!! I have hat hair!!” he whined trying to take it off her head, but she was leaning far enough away on the bench that it meant he had to lean over her to reach it.

“Get off!!” she protested, trying to shove him off of her, but he was too strong. He grinned cheekily at her as he grabbed the hat straight off of her head. I rolled my eyes at the two. They had been going off like this for days now, every second they were flirting with each other. I was surprised that they hadn’t become a couple yet.

They were the big news of the school, Mr Popular going for the new girl kind of stirs up some gossip. People were almost begging them to date, it was obvious that they were falling for each other hard.

“Will you two just date already” I scoffed and winced as they both hit me in unison. “See what I mean?! You guys are perfect for each other!”

“We’d rather wait until Wes comes to his senses! Then we can go on a double date” Drew smiled weakly at me. Wes and I had made an agreement that he was the one that broke it off, we weren’t going to go around telling everyone that we were waiting until Kaylee was gone because everyone would think we were crazy. Kaylee had the school wrapped around her finger all of a sudden and we didn’t really want to get into any trouble with people at school.

I knew I could trust both Drew and Mary, but to be honest I didn’t really want to broadcast it to them. They were putting their relationship off just because of me and I didn’t want them to feel like they had to do that to make me feel better.

“Gee, thanks for the reminder” I huffed.

“Aww Gabby, don’t get all angry with me!!” Drew whined and pinched my cheeks trying to make me laugh. I batted his hands off of me.

“Speak of the devil” Mary muttered under her breath, causing both Drew and I to look up, my hands holding his arms firmly away from my cheeks. My eyes locked straight onto Wes’ warm ones to find him grinning down at Drew and I.

Drew yanked his arms from my grip to grab Wes’ hand firmly in a “bro” handshake.

“Sup dude?!” Drew exclaimed, grinning up at him. Wes grinned back. Wait what? Since when were these two all chummy?

“Not much aye! Just chilling, what about you guys?” he asked, he was desperately trying to avoid my questioning look, a smirk plastered across his face, knowing exactly what my thoughts would be.
