Wes’ POV:

“It wasn’t me!!” Gabby screamed, waking me from my deep slumber. I groaned groggily, not wanting to get up just yet. She was just sleep talking…she does it all the time.

“Drew!!!” she cried, fully waking me up now. I watched helplessly as the tears started streaming down her face. “Drew please…I’m sorry!” she sobbed. My heart wrenched as she called out his name. Even though I know it’s going to take time for her to get over him it still hurts knowing that I’m not the only person on her mind.

Why was I sitting here watching her suffer? I should be bringing her back to reality, yet I couldn’t find the strength to do it. The jealousy inside me was slowly taking over, trying to figure out what this dream was about before she woke up.

“Wes…” she whimpered, the tears spilling out endlessly. My breath caught in my throat at the sound of my name. I pulled her into my arms, yanking her out of her nightmare in seconds.

“Baby I’m here, it’s okay…shhh” I hummed soothingly, holding her tightly to my chest as she continued to sob. She gripped onto me like her life depended on it, her tears soaking through my shirt and sticking to my bare chest.

“I hurt him Wes…I really did…” she cried, her voice cracking ever so slightly as she buried her head further into my chest. I pushed her away from me so that I could look her in the eyes.

“He’s strong Gabby. You know he’s going to get through this and find a girl that’s just as perfect as you! Although she won’t be…because you’re you and no-one can beat that!” I smiled softly at her as she chuckled and gently shoved me.

“You’re so corny lately…I love you” she whispered out of the blue. Those three words were like music to my ears coming from her. She realised what she’d just said and started to blush furiously. I was glad to see that she had forgotten about the dream if only for a little while.

“I love you too baby” I grinned, wiping her tears away with my thumbs. I held her face in my hands as she continued to look extremely embarrassed. It was so adorable that I just couldn’t resist myself anymore. I brought my lips to hers and kissed her softly, resting my forehead on hers as I pulled away.

“Stop distracting me…” she groaned, biting her lip and staring up at me with those damn blue eyes. It was literally crazy how much her eyes affected me. “I broke his heart…aren’t you afraid I’m going to break yours too?” she whispered averting her eyes sadly.

“The only thing I’m afraid of right now is you taking it out on yourself because of Drew. You can break my heart all you want, as long as you are happy. That’s all that matters to me” I tilted her head up to mine, brushing my thumb across her cheek gently.

“I don’t deserve you…” she mumbled, cuddling into me. No, I don’t deserve you…I thought to myself. “What happens when we go back to school? Drew is going to be there and I literally can’t handle seeing him so cut up about this…”

“It’ll be fine, I’ll be there every step of the way okay? I promise…”

“Wait FUCK! WE have school today!!” she shrieked, jumping out of the bed in a flash. She looked around the room frantically searching for something. “Wes none of my stuff is here!” she whined, running her fingers through her hair in distress.

“Sorry?” I questioned, unsure of whether she was blaming me or just stating the obvious. She shot me a glare. “Babe, we don’t need to go to school…I think we’ll be okay!”

“You have an excuse since you were recently in a car accident, but I have no reason whatsoever…” she rambled completely ignoring me yet again. I sighed and wrapped my arms around her from behind, resting my chin on her shoulder.
