-Months later-

Gabby’s POV:

“Babe I’m home…” I called out as I opened the door to our new home. I sighed contentedly, shutting the door and leaning against it to take in my surroundings. There was something about this apartment that just screamed “us”. It was right next to the beach...and by right next to it I mean you literally stepped outside and you were on the beach.

There was something special about living next to the beach, hearing the waves crashing to shore as you fell asleep. We’d only been living here since last night…so that could get very annoying soon, but I was making the most of the good feeling while it lasted.

The only downfall with this apartment was the fact that it had absolutely AWFUL wallpaper…I mean seriously, it looked like my grandma had been living here. Not that anything was wrong with it, it just really wasn’t my style.

“Could you come here please?” Wes called, a worried tone to his voice. My eyebrows furrowed, confusion washing through me as I followed the sound of his voice.

“Is everything okay?”

“Mmhmm, as soon as you do me a favour and get this spider out of our room!” He mumbled, staring at the wall as if it was on fire. I burst into laughter, relieved that there wasn’t some major issue that I would have to deal with. Not that I thought there would be, with Wes and I, bad things just seemed to stay clear of us. “Don’t laugh! It’s huge!!” He whined. I chuckled, walking up to him so I could pinch his cheeks.

“Is wittle Wesy afraid of a wittle spider?” I cooed. He swatted my hands away, pouting at me for teasing him. I grinned devilishly and tiptoed so that I could place a gentle kiss on his lips. “I missed you…” I sighed, wrapping my arms around his neck.

“Oh come on! You are surrounded by food and paying customers…when would you have the chance to miss me?” he teased, placing his hands on my waist. He knew how much I hated my boring job at the moment. Working in Starbucks had its perks to begin with, but having to work 5 shifts a week did end up getting tedious after a while.

“I can’t wait till I can go to university!” I sighed dreamily, imagining how my life would change when I got to study things that I actually enjoyed.

“I can…I won’t get to see you as much when you leave me for uni” he pouted once again. I rolled my eyes.

“I’m not leaving you! And anyway, you’re the one who’s auditioning for X Factor today! What happens when you become a famous band member huh? All those crazy fangirls are going to be begging for you and I’m just going to be here like…yup…that’s my boyfriend…but they won’t care and I’ll just—“

He cut me off by pressing his lips to mine, pulling my waist forward so that I crashed into his own warm, electrifying body. I melted into the kiss like I always seemed to do, the only thing keeping me upright was him. As he pulled away I removed my hands from around his neck and instead placed them on his chest, gripping onto him tightly to stop myself from falling due to my wobbly legs.

“Do you ever stop talking?” he chuckled, running his fingers through my hair. I shook my head, biting my lip in embarrassment. “Now, getting back to this spider...” he mumbled, turning me around so that I was facing it. I jumped back in fright as soon as I saw it.

“Oh my god!” I shrieked, looking at its gigantic hairy legs and creepy eyes. “It’s huge!” I yelped. I wasn’t usually one to be afraid of spiders, but this thing was a GIANT! I swear it could’ve swallowed us both whole in that moment.

“And that is my cue to go and have a shower!” Wes chuckled, scampering out of the room before I could stop him.

“JERK!” I called after him, still staring at the spider in fright. I slowly backed out of the room, leaving the spider in its place. I’m sure it will find its way out eventually right? I mean it’s not going to crawl all over us or anything…RIGHT?!
