Gabby's POV:
Walking into school I felt like I was on top of the world. Yesterday was such a success with this experiment and I'd instantly gained a lot of street cred. People who never noticed me would give me a smile and a wave in the hallways, and those people who treated me like dirt were the ones that were nice enough to say hi and start a decent conversation with me. It was like I was a completely different person, all because of a simple makeover.
Or maybe it was just because I hung out with Drew. He seemed to be the king of the school, and instantly it was like I was a completely different person. It was sad to think that my whole school was that superficial, I was glad to have Wes by my side.
I smiled over at Wes who, as always, was walking alongside me. He grinned back and leaned over to say something, but was interrupted by Drew who stopped us in our tracks.
"Hey babe!" he exclaimed and held out his arms to embrace me in a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck, he slid his arms around my waist and squeezed me gently. The feeling of him right up against me was amazing, I felt a sort of fire spread through my veins as he touched me, it was such an exhilarating feeling that it always put me in a good mood.
I smiled as I released my grip slightly, noticing that he was still holding onto me. He held me around the waist in a way that made it possible for me to see his face and actually talk to him.
"So tonight, I'm having this party. It's gonna be pretty chill, just a couple of people...and I was hoping you would come..." he grinned, staring at me hopefully.
"Hell yeah!" I exclaimed enthusiastically, I'd never actually been to a "cool" high school party before, it had always been just me and Wes goofing around. I turned back to look at Wes who was staring at the ground uncomfortably. "But I'm only going if Wes and Kaylee can come!" I added quickly. Wes' head shot up and our eyes locked. I couldn't tell if he was happy or angry with the fact that I basically invited him to Drew's party.
"Of course, it wouldn't be a party without you!" he chuckled and moved his hands from my waist to my arms. "I'll see you later then yeah?" he asked. I nodded and watched him leave, like the creepy person I am. I bit my lip and turned back to Wes.
"Do you really think I want to go to Drew Chadwick's party?" he questioned, his eyebrows raised.
"PLEAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE! Oh come on, it won't be that bad! I promise if it gets too much we can leave! Sound good?" I begged and pouted so that he would have more sympathy for me.
"Fine..." he muttered.
"Yay!!" I grinned and linked my arm through his, happily skipping off down the corridor like the idiot I am, pulling him along beside me.
-After School-
"I still can't believe you got me an invite to what could be the sickest party of the year!!" Kaylee shrieked, basically fangirling whilst doing her hair.
"No problem...seriously, Drew is so chill...he's just...gah...he's so nice...I can't believe he invited me either" I breathed, smiling at the thought of the possibility that Drew and I were friends.
"Sounds like someone's got a bit of a crush..." she teased and nudged me in the ribs. I never get crushes...this can't possibly be a crush, can it? I felt my cheeks starting to burn at the thought.
"I don't know...we'll see..." I finally managed to mumble. She giggled and started to apply her makeup. I sat on the bed waiting, I was terrible with makeup and was just gonna wait for her to do mine for me.
"Oh...speaking of crushes...Wes is looking pretty...hot lately, and he's changed a lot ever since I've gotten to know him...sooo..." she trailed off as she looked at my huge grin. "What?" she muttered defensively.
