Chapter 2

Long chapter ahead.
Reader POV

The next day we were sent up to the wall. I talked with Jean while we were preparing some of the cannons. Sasha came up to us and showed us a large meat ball she found. We all started to give out to her but in the end we all wanted a bit. Everything was going great nothing could ruin this moment until it appeared again. The colossal Titan is what we called it. It was huge and looked the same as the first time I saw him. He swung his arm across the wall to knock us all off. We all flung ourselves back of the side of the wall. Was it really all about to happen again? I held onto the wall for as long as I could but I felt myself slipping my ODM gear wouldn't hold much longer. My ODM gear came out of the wall and I started to fall. I didn't yell to loud incase I would startle the citizens. I felt an arm behind my back when I looked over I saw Jean I was really close to his face at this moment and began to get really red. He brought me back up towards the top of the wall. "You alright?" I looked him in the eyes "yeah" I answered.

We went to go fill up all our tanks and re-stock our blades. Just before heading out I went up to Jean to thank him for earlier. "Thank you Jean," I said. "It's fine, you ok though." I nodded at him and we walked out. This was the first time that I would be fighting the Titans without my squad. No backup this time. We prepared to head out all we had to do was make sure that all the citizens were evacuated. I tried to help anyone who was worried about this mission. People were crying or even throwing up. I was assigned to the elite squad but I turned it down and joined the squad that Eren and Armin were in. I kept to myself through most of the talk but as soon as we left I tried to make sure that I wouldn't have to see anyone die. That all changed when an  abnormal came flying at us and got one man. I looked out across him and rushed up to him I tried to reach him before he was eaten but I was too late. I had reached it just after the man was eaten. I slashed the Titan down one then two then three. I rushed towards the only man left, Armin. "ARMIN!" I called out to him. A Titan picked him up I sliced his hand. I grabbed him and pulled him out. His hand regenerated in no time. Another Titan came out of nowhere and I went for the nape. By the time I looked back at Armin he was crying yelling "EREN" I pulled him over to a house and met with Connies squad.

They tried to communicate with Armin but all they could get out of him was screams.I stood at the edge of the house while they tried to talk to Armin. I flung myself the other way and tried to hold in some tears. I couldn't hold them in while I flew off. There was too many Titans to fight. I thought that I said that I wasn't going to watch all my comrades die. I stopped on top of a roof and began to cry I let out one tear then another. I felt a hand on my shoulder I turned around and put a blade up. I was on high alert. When I actually looked around, it was Jean. Connie was beside him I let my blade down "Sorry," I said. "It's fine, what happened?" He asked. "I was with Armins squad.." I said. His eyes opened. They started to make a plan but it all added up to a suicide mission. Sasha was the only one who had any hopes for us. Mikasa came up towards us, wasn't she in the rear guard? It didn't matter. I heard Armin call out all our teammates names. They're all dead, I knew it but it was still an eye opener. I stood up and decided to at least try and give some hope. When I got up everyone looked at me. I had befriended most of them and most of them really liked me. Alright... what could I say to make them all get going. I had one idea that was really stupid but what could I do. I pointed my finger at one of the cadets from the crowd. a

  "You, you can decide what the first person there gets." He looked at me for a second and then said "the first person there gets to.." he stopped for a moment. Then continued again "Kiss you." He looked around and got a sort of cheer looked like that raised everyone's spirits. He looked at me and I answered in a bit of a yell "Alright, first person there gets to kiss me." I looked around and everyone cheered. Everyone set of towards HQ surrounded by Titans. Mikasa and Armin somehow took a detour I set off after them. "JEAN,CONNIE LEAD EVERYONE TO HQ!" I yelled at them. "OK" Connie answered back. I followed Mikasa and Armin. I called out to Armin "WHERE ARE YOU GUYS GOING!" He turned around "MIKASA IS OUT OF GAS, I HAVE TO HELP HER." I nodded at him. "THEN LETS GO!" I screamed. Mikasa was on the ground beside 2 Titans. I picked her up and brought her to a higher house. I still had some gas but I wasn't sure if it was enough to bring down Titans and get to HQ. There were 2 15meter Titans but one of them decided to fight the other. "Let's get going," I said to them. "What about Mikasa, how about this have my gas." Armin said to Mikasa. He started to go on about dieing but I picked him up. "Are we ready to go." He looked up at me. "What are you doing, I'm not going to leave you behind and this is the easiest way." Mikasa and I used our ODM gear to head towards HQ. "NO!" Armin called out. "We should bring the other Titan to HQ so that we don't have to fight them all." He started to give us a plan. I looked at him "Well Armin you seem like it could work let's do it." He looked at me and asked if I really was gonna do it. I nodded at him. Mikasa killed the Titans while I carried Armin. I rushed to HQ killing most of the Titans to get his attention towards HQ. We brushed through the door. Armin told everyone what we found out. We made a plan to kill the Titans in the storage room. Armin told us all the plan and we prepared to go down. I was one of the seven people who had to kill the Titans. We prepared to kill the Titans. The guns all fired and I swooped down and hit the nape. Almost everyone got the shot in except Sasha and Connie I used my ODM gear to take down the one still standing and Mikasa took the other one down. "They're all dead, let's fill up our tanks," someone said. We gathered up our stuff and were about to head out. I was standing beside Jean when we saw it. The crazy abnormal was getting cannibalised. We decided that it would be best to save the Titan but when we looked down someone had emerged from the body of a Titan. It was Eren, Mikasa ran down to him first to make sure he was alive. Next minute we were taking him back with us. I didn't watch Eren get eaten but I knew that he was dead. How did this happen?
