Chapter 31

Reader POV

We made it back to the wall and looked out at the town. Even though there was only 9 of us here we got a huge applaud. Everyone was excited about the news. We had retaken wall Maria. I felt like cheering and smiling but I couldn't bring myself to do it. And when I finally did was fake, all I could think about was my dream.

Was it really a dream? Each and every night I thought about it. I didn't sleep for hours and hours. The night I finally got some sleep it happened. My memories came flooding back in. My life before Levi. My terrible terrible life. Why did I only remember that now? I woke up and it was late be dry late.

I got up and dressed and rushed to the main room. I had been staying in the nurses unit. My injured weren't healed. My legs hurt I shouldn't have been running. My hair was a mess and I tried to do it while running. One or two people tried to calm me down but I had trained to deal with this amount of pain. I ran and ran until I came to Levi's station.

I burst open the door and looked around. Levi, Historia, Hange, Eren, Mikasa, Jean, Armin, Connie and Sasha all sat around a table looking at me. "L-Levi I remember. I remember everything." I yelled. He stood up pushing back his chair. I was bleeding my legs were covered in blood and I hurt but, I made it.

He came over to me. "W-what do you mean I thought you couldn't remember?" He asked. Hange also got up "Y/n what do you remember." She yelled. Everyone looked at us confused. "This is what you were talking about." Jean spoke up. Everyone brought their attention to him. I fell to my knee's breathing heavily. "I-I am..." I blanked out just before I could finish the sentence.

  I woke up laying on the sofa. I sat up straight and put my hand to my head. Everyone was sitting around me. "Now Y/n if you don't mind telling us what you meant," Eren looked at me.

"Last night I remembered it all, before I met you." I looked at Levi. He nodded waiting for me to start. "I'll start with my first memory, I had it when Bertholdt said L/n." I looked around, Levi looked at me not sure what that had to do with anything. "That name
L/n it's my last name, I didn't know at the time but that's how it felt famillair." I sighed my throat hurting a bit. Hange handed me a glass of water.

(Ok so sorry if some of this doesn't add up with the actual storyline I'm kinda making it up. This chapter will be a bit longer than the others)

"So your name is Y/n L/n?" Mikasa asked. I nodded my head slowly. "Now the next thing I remembered was when I was younger. I don't think I had any parents since they didn't come up in my memories." I took another sip of the water. "When I was younger I lived with a few people. Don't be mad when I tell you who." I softened my voice.

"We won't," Mikasa answered. "I worked with Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, a girl called Pieck and another boy called Marcel." I said in a sort of whisper. "YOU WHA-" Eren tried to yell but he was shut down by Mikasa. "I trained with them and I was one of the people who was trying to have one of the Titans but..." I stopped talking lifting up the glass again. Everyone was silent. "But I ran away." I continued. "I didn't want to have a Titan so I ran away, I ran from my problems and my friends and my duties," I mumbled.

"What happened then?" Armin pushed himself forward towards me. "I was taken to be turned into a Titan as my punishment." I looked up at them finally meeting eyes with Jean. I hadn't seen him much but he seemed stunned.

"J-just as I was about to be turned into a Titan.." I completely shut down and tears filled my eyes. My put my face into my hands refusing to look back up. "Just a bit more Y/n.." Sasha tried to help me a bit. "I-I pulled out a knife and stabbed him.." I blurted out. I didn't want to see their faces. "That doesn't seem to bad," Mikasa tried to comfort me. "No it doesn't if I didn't know him. "The man I killed was my brother..." I sniffled. Levi put my hand on my back. "You did what you had to do to survive." He said to me. "Then I jumped of the tall block and ran for hours and hours." I took another drink.

"Then when I reached a place close enough to the wall I got surrounded by Titans. And well got half eaten. You and Erwin found me after that and I went and lived with you." I finished my story.

I left out some gruesome things that had happened to me throughout the years. They wouldn't have wanted to hear that anyways. Almost everyone came up to me and gave me a hug. It was comforting knowing that my friends understood that I had a problematic life and that I needed comforting. The only person who didn't come up to me was Eren. I looked over at him and tried to say something "look Eren, I know I worked with the traitors but I.." I stopped in my tracks. What could I say. "Y/n thank you." He whispered at me and smiled, surprisingly. "Thank you for telling us this even though it was had for you." He put his head down a bit but I could tell he was glad. "T-that's why Annie must have spared me." I said under my breath. "Hmm?" Levi made a confused noise. "N-nothing, it's nothing." I smiled at him tilting my head to the side. "Thank you for.. well everything." I smiled at them all. What would I be without them.
