Reader child POV (11 years old)

I was walking with Petra when it happened. We were on the wall heading towards Oluo. I had ran towards him as it happened. "OLUO" I called out to him. He turned his head towards me and as he said hey I saw it. It was huge it's eyes were long and full of hate. It was tall almost as tall as the wall. I screamed and backed away. Oluo and Petra both ran to me but I ran away. We rushed to safety. We got down from the wall and ran. The one day we decided not to have any gear in us they attacked us.

Reader POV (current)

I stood up straight ready to become an official scout. I wasn't aiming to get into the top 10. I didn't want to go to the military police. "Your name cadet." Yelled the instructor. "Armin Artler, sir" the boy answered. I waited for my turn. He head butted the man beside me, I was laughing so hard on the inside but I kept my cool. He finally came to me "How about you?" I answered confidently "Y/N sir!" He looked at me in the eyes "Meet me after training." I nodded, why would he want to see me? I met some people while training. One of them was called Connie and another called Marco. I met a couple of others as well but I hung out with those two the most. One girl I met was called Sasha and most of us called her potato girl. She had brought a potato to training and was forced to run till the sunset that day. I met one more person who was very interesting his name was Jean. Jean reminded me of a horse because of the way his face was shaped. That was my nickname for him 'horse-face' he called me 'miget' just because I was small. I hated my nickname but he probably hated his as-well. I tried to get on everyone's good side so that I could have some allies from different regiments. Most of the people were really nice but some were a bit more difficult to talk to, Annie and Mikasa mostly but that would change I could tell. At dinner everyone crowded around this one guy called Eren, he had seen some Titans before. I mean what's the big deal so have I and some of the others. Near the end of dinner I went towards the captain wanted to meet me. "Sir, I have arrived." I walked up towards him he left a seat for me. "Your the one that captain Levi told me about." So Levi had already sent word in I would be coming. "Yes sir that's me, Y/N" I answered. "I noticed that you only said Y/N what about your last name, everyone else did there full name." I looked at him and sighed I guess I should tell him. "Sir I am afraid I do not know my last name." He shot his head up to meet mine "why not?" I knew this wasn't something he should know so I just told him that it's what Levi told me.

The next day it was altitude training. I passed at least that's what I thought I did. I mean I already knew how to work the ODM gear. I kept to myself throughout most of the training. Eren finally ended up doing it and got a huge cheer from everyone including myself. I had to gain the respect of people that may be my future comrades. I sat beside Annie at dinner and tried to talk to her. We managed to communicate once or twice but she stayed quite most of the time. Near the end of dinner I went out towards the girls dorms. I met a girl called Christa on the way in. She was really nice and seemed like an angel. We sat together and talked for a while. I asked her where she was aiming to end up. Military police as usual. I didn't understand them why didn't they go somewhere they could make a difference. Sasha walked in as I was explaining why I thought that the military police were a fraud. "When people get into the top 10 it means they have amazing skill and talent, I just don't get why they waste it on the military police. I understand it's your choice but with that talent why not go somewhere where you will make a difference." She thought about it for a minute and Sasha walked over towards us "I guess that makes sense but in the military police your safe from Titans." Sasha replied. I smiled at her and answered "I'm not trying to tell you, your not able to go there I mean it's just my opinion." Christa looked at me "You give good advice you know." As if, we slept well that night.
