Jimin POV

A quick glance at my watch told me that I had about 15 minutes before I was scheduled to meet with Jungkook. I decided to stop since I already finished a third of the paperwork. As I leaned back in my chair to stretch my sore back, my best friend Taehyung came over. I smiled at the brown haired young man with a boxy grin.

"Hi, Jiminie hyung!" he said as he adjusted his glasses.

"Hey, Tae Tae. What are you up to? I rarely see you on the third floor."

"Well... I just so happen to be delivering some results for Yoongi hyung's squad, so I figured I would say hello!"

"Oh awesome. Good news for them I hope?"

"Yes and no. I managed to identify the substance, but sadly it's a pretty common wax. It's going to take a while to track down the manufacturer," he answered with a pout.

"Darn. Tough break. I know Yoongi hyung's going mad over there already. But I have confidence he'll figure it out soon."

"Yeah, let's hope so for his team's sake," Tae laughed.

"Seriously!" I agreed. "Well I gotta get going, Tae," I said as I grabbed my extra change of clothes, that I always keep in a paper bag underneath my desk, before standing up.

"Meeting lover boy again?" he teased as he wiggled his eyebrows playfully.

"Wha- no! He's just my informant," I argued with a faint blush on my cheeks.

"Right, right. Your 'informant'," he replied, using air quotations with his fingers as he rolled his eyes. I groaned as I walked away quickly to hide my red cheeks, waving to Taehyung over my back. "You can't lie to me, bestie!" he shouted down the hallway. I shook my head as I made my way down the hall to the bathroom. After I changed my outfit I dropped off my uniform at my desk, grabbing my note pad, keys, and phone from the drawer before making my way down the stairs and out the main entrance.

Our meeting spot was only a five minute walk away, so I strolled past the various businesses at a leisurely pace. A few minutes later I spotted the coffee shop across the street a couple blocks down. My heart began to beat faster the closer I got. All of a sudden I became nervous and I couldn't tell if it was because I was anticipating the info or because of...something else. I pushed the thoughts to the back of my mind as I entered the familiar shop.

It was relatively packed, but I noticed a certain mop of black hair almost instantly. His white tank top revealing his intricate tattoo sleeve on his right arm. My eyes traveled further down his seated body to see his tight black ripped jeans and black converse.

As I made my way over to his booth, he casually glanced at the front door before our eyes met. Every time he looked at me, I would feel a spark of electricity run up my spine. I brushed back my black hair nervously as he practically devoured me with his big doe eyes. He smirked while he leaned back and propped up his left arm on the back of the bench.

"Well look who decided to finally show up," he quipped with a raised eyebrow. I rolled my eyes as I took a seat across from him, crossing my legs and resting my folded arms on the table.

"It's not even 10 yet. I'm surprised you're here this early anyways. Usually I'm the one waiting," I replied.

"Yeah well, I had to make sure I left the parlor while the idiots were distracted." I felt a small pang in my chest at his words. I was reminded yet again that he was risking his life by giving me this information.

"Right... so um-"

"Have you eaten breakfast yet?" Jungkook interrupted suddenly.

"I had an apple," I answered with a confused look, not understanding why he asked me that out of the blue.

"That's not breakfast, shorty." I frowned at the nickname, frustrated that he insisted on calling me that. I opened my mouth to scold him, but he waved over one of the waitresses who rushed over to our booth.

"Hello, sir! What can I get for you?" she asked politely with a warm smile.

"Yes, could I please have two menus?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him as she nodded and left to grab them.

"That wasn't necessary. I didn't plan on eating anything," I said as I pulled out my pen and notepad.

"Well you should eat something," he retorted with a scoff.

"And for the last time, you should refer to me as detective, Park or Jimin hyung," I explained through gritted teeth. Jungkook merely rolled his eyes with a scoff as he looked away.

The waitress returned with the menus, placing them in front of us. I watched silently as he skimmed the pages before deciding on a meal. "I'll have the six stack of pancakes with a side of bacon and black coffee," he stated as he handed her the menu. She wrote it down quickly before turning to me.

"Nothing for me, thank you," I said as I gave her the menu. She nodded, walking away to enter his order. I turned to face him again only to see that he was already staring at me. I couldn't quite read his expression, but he seemed to be in deep thought. I cleared my throat to regain his attention as I clicked my pen. "So, can we start now? I really gotta get back to the station and I can't leave until you share what you've learned."

"Don't worry, detective. I'll fill you in...after I get my food," he smirked. I glared at him for his tone, but decided against arguing back. "In the meantime, we could chat. You know like get to know each other," he added.

"I already know everything about you, Jeon. I read your file," I stated with a shrug. I mean of course I didn't know literally everything, but I knew a lot of his background story.

"What?! Talk about invasion of privacy!" Jungkook shot back as he crossed his arms in annoyance. I fought the urge to smile at his mad face and kept a straight face.

"Look, I had to know who I was dealing with. I need to know that I can trust my informant," I reasoned.

"Oh, sure! You just- wait how do I know you're not just bluffing?"

"...Jeon Jungkook born September 1st, 1997 in Busan. You have one older brother who now lives in America working as a lawyer. Both of your parents are doctors and reside in Seoul. You were admitted to the hospital on five different occasions for getting into fights and a couple of arrests related to graffiti. You graduated high school in 3 years with a 4.0 GPA and earned hundreds of hours in community service by volunteering at a local animal shelter. Your-"

"Okay okay okay okay okay! Enough already," he yelled with slightly pink cheeks. I chuckled at his childish behavior, watching him pout. "Well now it's only fair that you tell me your story," he continued as he placed his elbows on the table to get closer.

"My past is really none of your concern, Jeon," I replied as I mimicked his posture by leaning closer as well.

"What's the matter, shorty? Got something to hide?" he asked with a quirked brow. I brushed my hair back, trying to calm my racing heart. His dominant aura made it hard for me to contain my emotions. It was irritating beyond belief that he made me feel this way with a single glance. My normally cool façade melted away once he looked at me. Luckily I had a pretty good poker face so he didn't notice just how much he affected me. But I could do nothing to stop my cheeks from heating up as he continued to stare at me.

"I guess you'll never know," I responded as I attempted to regain control. He just chuckled as he shook his head.

"You're a difficult one to crack detective Park..."
